I really love this perspective because it's really me. Everything else talks about so many feelings but most of the time I'm that friend who's like "I have a good life and I don't know what you mean but obviously it's important to you so I appreciate your words." Sometimes I'll try to feel the way they do and while I am very good at empathy, I know I never truly feel it and can't ever truly relate. I always feel like I can't connect to that friend in the way they need because I don't understand it in my gut-understander.

When I first listened/watched this I didn't see the end part so I thought it was an ode to the moments of sadness where everything is kind of nothingy and it's like nothings going on in your head so you have to ask others to provide you what to say/do the talking and thinking for you, but now I've seen the end explanation bit it fits a lot better with that 😅 it's a lovely little song, I love it a lot !!

In the video, in the second verse, dodie is singing the song in the second person. She sings you instead of I. But on the music track, she sings it in the first person all the way through. I wish she had recorded the second verse the other way. I think it gives the song much more depth. Either way though, it is another wonderful song from dodie and I love it so much.
