When my husband died from a prescription drug overdose, I went crazy...literally. I was placed in a psychiatric hospital for 2 weeks. One of the therapists gave me an iPod with this album on it and the first time I heard this song, I listened to each word and the crazy subsided to grief. The grief led me to realize that there wasn't anything I could have done to save or change him. It also led me to understand that I had been holding on to a terrible fantasy of a love that had died long ago. I was grieving the hope of a home...safety that I thought I had won. It's been 6 years now and my grief has made me travel a road to something stronger and built on a better foundation. But I still listen to this song to remind me that there was a time I believed in once upon a time...

I am sorry for your loss. Pain can be so totally encompassing. I hope that happiness and comfort follows you wherever you go. They never leave your soul or heart.

Norma Summers yeah a joke about the president, who was an asshole anyway, America got butthurt and treated Dixie chicks as if they needed to be burnt to the steak, some people need to get over themselves. They're amazing woman with angelic vocals and music and are beautiful people inside and out.

AnneCookie there was a very good country album that came out last year called Souther Family if you haven't heard it check it out it has a very traditional sound

Steve Wright (DJ),  introduced the Dixie Chicks with Landslide (I think). I've loved their music ever since.  Haven't listened to this album for a while. Excellent.

You owe these girls a percentage of any profit. If you made nothing then you're promoting and publicising them for nothing and good luck and well done.

Dave Shephard only an absolute idiot would discredit their music, talent, and ability. It's probably just above your head. This album, home, is an absolute masterpiece if that word could ever be applied to country or pop music.

Dixie Chicks are and will always be one of the greatest country acts of all time! It's pathetic how the Country Music industry has completely shut them out. All because Natalie said she was ashamed that George Bush was from Texas....Guess what I'm ashamed that he is from America!!! I loved this my mom would play the dixie chicks in the car all the time and on my grad day I came home to the dixie chicks playing and we went to dinner

I know someone who could relate to this song every time she thinks of me and the life we could have had that she rejected... Now, 10 years later, I am happily married and she's alone in her empty multi-million dollar home.

They say home is where the heart is, if the exception proves the rule I guess that's true. GREAT song.

This is by far the best song on the album. Absolutely beautiful and haunting, and amazing harmonies. Gives me chills.

@Shevaron A few years back, my aunt took me, my sister and cousin on about an 8 hour trip and we replayed this album the whole way there and back.

I was driving home today about a 8 hr trip. Put this CD in and when I heard this track I put it on repeat and must have played it 30 times.
