Disciple - Worth The Pain Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The light at the end has faded away
One terror after another
Somewhere in the fire
The embers of faith
Will burn through tomorrow
You're breathing

[Chorus]
It's worth the pain
God's in the rain
It's not too late to start again
It's worth the pain
So hold on tonight

[Verse 2]
Your passionate eyes try to explain
All the blindness you're feeling
The six feet of lies exposed in His fire
Resurrecting your sunrise
You're breathing

[Bridge]
There's grace
When you're at your wit's end
Begging for it
He'll take you by the hand
There's grace

Disciple Worth The Pain Comments
  1. StarBlaze_Wolf 1316

Its worth the pain.... I will see all my brothers and sisters when I go to heaven one day... I wil lfinally meet them. Mom can hold the rest of her 10 children... Dad can have fun and tell each of his 10 children funny stories and whorship God all together... Its worth the pain of knowing they never got to hold all their children through all these years. Its worth the pain... To know one day I will get to embrace all the older siblings I have. Be the little sister to all 9 of them... But then Be able to hold my little sibling who I never met... To hold them, play with them and be the older sister I wish I could be right now.

I just wanted to say that this band is awesome I'm using my mom's account right now and my name is Christian Burnham if I can just reach out to lead singer of this band I'd like to thank you for steering me in a better path my Inspirations for music or absolute garbage for I listen to you I was listening to stuff like Avenged Sevenfold Motionless In White Asking Alexandria and all those bands ever did was advocate my fear of people and dealing with people and arming myself with worthless knowledge and constant reminders that I'll never be able to get out from underneath the tyranny of people's lack of understanding that they had over me I feel that those bands that I did listen to advocated massive paranoia advocated a psychosis and a mental state of mind that was constantly shocking me and keeping me in a cage of my own fear and self-doubt but now that I've come to realize that not all alternative music is that way and I've come to realize that Jesus Christ really is the way I come to realize it bands like this are the bands that matter most it's bands like yours it gives me true inspiration for the longest time I thought I wanted to be famous for the longest time I wanted to be noticed but now I realize I can't go to bat for anyone not myself and definitely not God because God went to bat for me when he brought Jesus Christ for me I was never meant to face these demons I was never meant for battle I was meant to Rejoice this life I was meant to Rejoice to get that I've been given I was meant to help others Rejoice their gift as well and I want to thank disciple personally for helping me see that and I can't wait to start writing good music for the sake of my fellowship and my freedom to be a true Christian and to celebrate that everyday with the people that I love I'd like to apologize to everyone that I've ever hurt with my art and everybody that I could have hurt when my art was starting to become a parasitic monster I studied music and I was beginning to use it as a weapon it's not meant to be used that way it's meant to be used for the good of mankind and the only good man kind of can be used for is the healing of others and I believe that that healing can only be obtained do the idolization a Jesus Christ himself I want to personally think bands like this their help me pull myself out of the Shadows and back into the light I recently undergone a serious mental state of psychosis and paranoia that took my life in a Direction that could have killed me I was under a lot of stress because I pursued this dream on my own I pursued this dream of rock and roll and learn every instrument and learn how to record it all also learning psychology to back it up learning the basic principles a truly interacting my music and applying it to the people around me in such a way they can keep people interested and every word that I say but such power comes with great responsibility and a tampering with that responsibility can come with a grave cost to those who pursue the art of music my prayers is that you take the right path because if you take the wrong path it can have us some really devastating consequences. And if you take the path the way I did it God be with you because pursuing the musical arts on your own becoming a true prodigy is not easy and it will take a toll on your body mind and Spirit music has a much deeper element to it and now I become a lot more respectful to that element I'm changing my absolute Outlook my playlist and everything that I interact with as far as media arts are concerned and I'm going to apply them strictly for Christianity and helping those going through traumatic experiences to have a more positive outlook on life because in a life full of trauma if we look at things in a negative light we will never make it and we will fall every time and some Falls are not worth falling for that is my message to the world thank you for listening

  21. Andrew Overmyer

the only time it even mentions anything about that is in the old testament witch when Jesus died was no more, stop focusing on the small stuff and start on your own crosses to bear

    Solarc12

Andrew Overmyer I don't know what you're referencing here, but the old testament and new testament are incredibly close in relation. Jesus enveloped the 10 commandments in to 2, love God above all things (1-4) and love your neighbor as you love yourself (5-10).

  22. Andrew Overmyer

for one thing being a christian doesn't mean you can not have tattoos or piercings the do no harm to the body and it also said in the bible the Jesus will come back with i am the king of kings and lord of lords written on his side kings in bible times had tattoos and piercings to show that they were royal king David had them and i am pretty sure we are not going to tell king David he cant be in heaven because of that

    Andrew Overmyer

Yes faith comes by believing in God no matter what may come or what people say you have a father that loves you more then any one could ever try too these hard times come but God is bigger then the devil

    Jaden Yorke

+Andrew Overmyer not to mention bigger than anything that could ever be, he is the way, the truth and the life

    Andrew Overmyer

    Amen to that

    These comments are triggering me.

The no ink on flesh rule in Leviticus was made due to the Pagan religions marking their skin. The Jews God's people were around a lot of Paganism at the time, and they didn't have Jesus so God set those strict rules in order to keep them Godly. Jesus fulfilled the laws. So yes, christians can have tattoos. My youth pastor has them everywhere. (They mostly all pertain to Jesus). Though Jesus fulfilled the law, don't confuse it with abolishment. It was a serious rule back then, and we should try to understand it. Also King David having tattoos was a sin in that time (and I'm not sure if he did or not but please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm still in Leviticus.) King David also was lustful, and that was a very serious sin back then. More understandable than tattoos, but neither permitted by God at that time. All of God's followers sin, but they all get God's forgiveness. Wether in the Old testament by sacrificing an animal in place of the sin or through Jesus Christ in the New testament. The Bible really is big and complicated, which makes it so fun to read.

If this is supposed ably a "Christian" band then why do they have tattoos? Isn't that against GOD's rules? Your body's a temple so don't mistreat it, I'm not really into religion but i know I'm right about what I say

I'm not one to point out what's wrong with other people, but if you read Romans, chapter 25 (I believe, it's that one, I'm not looking at it right now though.) Paul speaks about a situation very similar to this.
the basis is, if you do not think it is a sin, or if your purpose is to glorify God in a loving manner, that can bring others to Christ, then go for it. there will be people who disagree and who think you are sinning, and both parties should respect each other's opinions, in the specific verses I am referring to in Romans, Paul uses the idea of eating meat. in that time, eating unprepared meat, or meat that had not undergone a VERY specific ritual was looked down upon, (if you look at the preparation requirements, they are very similar to today's preparation, involving washing of hands, cooking, etc)
so, the question was, if I ate unprepared meat, could I still follow Christ? the answer Paul gave was the man who eats the meat will be saved just as the man who doesn't eat will be. the reason behind this is because the man who eats the meat, is not doing so out of a lack of love for God. he is doing it for the nourishment that it provides so that he may continue to live for God. the man who doesn't eat, does so out of respect for God. he does not want to let God down in any way and lives a stricter lifestyle to respect God, he continues by saying, that if "meat-eaters" are invited to have dinner with the others they should respect their wishes and not bring unprepared food, and vice versa, the "vegetarian" does not have to eat but he should respect his hosts.

the bible also says that if you have a problem with your fellow brothers and sisters to take it up with them in private, so as not to berrade them in public where nonbelievers can use that situation as an argument against believers as a whole.

just saying my view, love and respect you all, of I've mistyped something or there is a better explanation please let me know, I haven't read some of these specific passages in a while

    Sekiko Gaming

To be honest, this would be very fitting to the Passion.

    Solarc12

I arrived late to the party. the whole deal is, yes it's a sin. God says "your sins are forgiven." and casts them into the deepest waters, never to be remembered. think about it this way: the sin isn't *having* a tattoo, the sin is *getting* a tattoo. but this also brings up the abolishing or the law of Moses, how Jesus completely fulfilled the law so we don't live by it anymore. If you don't know what the law of Moses is, essentially it's the laws that God told Moses to write so he could govern his people. God told Moses to build an ark, to put the 10 commandments inside the ark, and the law of Moses outside of the ark (yes, Moses built an ark too. sadly I don't remember the specific verses in relation to this.) The verse in Leviticus that was posted earlier falls under the law of Moses. what I'm trying to say is, God forgives us for sins we commit, as he's forgiven those who have broken the law of Moses back then. even if the law wasn't abolished, it says to not make piercings not tattoos *for the dead.* That is a big part of it as well. I don't even know why I'm writing this, it's 5:50 A.M.. Long story short, because I've been rambling, God's gonna forgive you if you're willing to ask for it and repent from your sin. I hope the Lord finds you, but until then, I'll be praying for you. No joke, as I'm writing this, I'm debating posting this because A) it's a five page essay and B) I'm really self-conscious about how I come off to others. anyways, God bless you, have a wonderful day or night, depends when you read it. knowing me, I'm probably not gonna respond to any replies, but who knows, maybe I will. sorry, rambling again. I'm done here.

    Aaron Cates

    Thank you friend for this.

  28. Rebekah Smith

I know that songs like this cause some to hate because it's Christian and about God, but does it matter in the end what it's about. It says it's worth the pain. God's gift of free will means that YOU can make it whatever you want to be worth the pain. Some days for me it breathing, and smiling. Others though it's worth the pain to love this world of pain that God that has put me in.

A bunch ppl just come to post hate comments about God. If your an idiot and don't Jesus or believe in Him then don't even listen to Christian music then hate on it. Seriously. Get. A. Life.

    Solarc12

well if you think about it, music can be used as a form of evangelism. you saying that they shouldn't listen to christian music can discourage people from seeking God because they think that all christians are like that.

  40. Madeline Pixley

To me, this song is about holding on and fighting and surviving. Life is really hard and I'm saying this at only 15 years old. I have been through so much and still going through them. Its hard to want to live sometimes and its hard not to want to give up on life, but when I listen to this song it gives me hope. It tells me that someday I will be rewarded for the pain I have and am going through. There is always hope, you just have to find it.

    Aaron Cates

I won't explain the things I've felt and been through. I'm 27 now. I still have things wrong with me as in disease and disorders. But I know I can cope with it a lot more nowadays. Learned so much about my own faults that I can help those who are younger. Hopefully. It will be ok. I tell myself this over and over.

    Stephen Zaffarano

Madeline, I hope that at 19, you continue to lean on Jesus to get you through. Recently posted this and I feel like I've lived several lifetimes since my own childhood:

We start out as a shapeless lump of clay in the Potter's hands. He prods and pokes us while we spin upon this potter's wheel called Earth. Some go through many cycles of prodding and reshaping until a vessel is achieved that is meant to hold something (water?). You cannot put water in to a wet clay vessel, however, as it will permeate the soft material and cause the vessel to leak and become misshapen. It must be placed in the kiln where the greater application of fire will solidify the mass, making it able to hold liquids successfully. This is the most stressful part of the process as once fired, the vessel may crack and split, whereas it must be pulverized in to dust once more, remixed with water again, and the process begins again. Do not leap off of the Potter's Wheel or out of the kiln before the Potter has completed His work!! He has you in His hands with all wisdom and love to make you in to a vessel for His glory!!

Hope this helps you on your journey. May He continue to guide your path and lead you in His ways, until you meet Him one day.

  41. Frankie Lutterloh

This song is written for the Christian ears but to me this song sounds like it's worth giving up things to help someone you love get through hard times because you know how they feel because maybe you went through it yourself.... Just sayin...

  47. Grey Matters

Yep... and one thing Islam has in common with Judaism, Christianity, Catholicism, and some others, is a man named Yeshua Hameshiach- proven to exist by non-religious scientific scholars- baptized a few years before being sentenced to death by a Roman named Pontius Pilate. Muslims call Him Isa, Jews call him Yeshua, and Christians or Catholics call Him Jesus. He is Truth. He is the way. He is life. He Is.

  53. michael heirtzler

oh ok thanks for the info

  54. Hal Jordan

There is over 5000 gods, how do you know that you chose the correct one? If you're a christian or a catholic it's because of geography. If you would have been born in Irak you would be a muslim

    Solarc12

Hal Jordan Iraq*, there is only one god, and that's God. there are misinformed people, if I was born in Iraq, I agree I would most likely be Muslim because of my surroundings and how my parents would've brought me up, but that doesn't change the fact that God is the one true God. I was brought up in a family where we called ourselves christians but never really lived by it until my sister contracted a sickness that essentially paralyzed her from the waist down, where after my sister was in the hospital for about a month, my mom offered her life in true dedication, and promised to give up her jewelry (she wore a lot of jewelry) in exchange for the health of my sister. my sister has strength in her legs the night my mom made the "exchange", and today she walks completely fine, where doctors said if she was to walk again, it would be with a cane. so yeah, I guess your geography dictates your religion, but the things I've seen solidify that there is a god, and although He has many names; God, Jehova, Yahweh, YHWH, YWVH, etc., He is the one true God. sorry, didn't mean to give you an essay.

  55. michael heirtzler

    there is only 1 god

  59. Bryton Asapace

Music and religion is a good combination, because some people could relate to the song, plus it's acknowledging God,. I believe this song is about God's chastening and discipline, and how it's worth the pain because he is chastening is for our profit and his.

  60. Hal Jordan

  71. jum hitty

atheists who come onto Christian videos to put insulting comments are truly pathetic. Also, if u don't believe in God, then why do u constantly insult him??? where's the logic in that? lol

    Lol at ur logic. :3

  73. Section8ification

Even if it was evolution (which it may have been for animals, but we were created in His image), even if it was a big bang or any other theory, who do scientists think did it? I mean, come on. Cool, man, you just learned a new law of physics; who wrote the law? Awesome, you made a supercomputer the size of bacteria; try creating bacteria or any other life, and let me know how it works for you.

  76. harleyq1000

Oh... and for the science buffs out there..... God is the ultimate scientist. Just because we dont know how things work and co-exist doesnt mean that He doesnt. We just aren't as smart as Him, *go figure* ... this isn't brain surgery guys!

  77. harleyq1000

I'm sick of the apologetic tone of Christians. Yeah, I believe in God, lotsa people do and I am sure as crap falls, not ashamed of it. I really don't feel any need to show to anyone how God can exist either, you wanna go to hell.... its all freedom of choice. You write your own song. Go knock yourself out. *waves goodbye*.

  78. nikee starbander

its always worth the pain to fight for what you love so be a hero and dont give up if your having a bad time! just hang in there and stay tuff!

  79. Cody Plaisance

    all the way!

  80. SSJ1Igor

yes. you can believe both in science and God. You can be religious and do science at the same time. its not hard. and you should realize that times change and that you should be flexible as well. the bible was written by humans who at the time hadn't had the scientific knowledge we do today. but that doesnt make the bible wrong. it just makes it less precise. be strong and be good. im more of an atheist than religious, but I respect religion, and love the idea of God and Christ. cheers!

I I'm sorry B4rrowPwn but science has no proof of the Big Bang theory eather and yes there is proof that God existed its a book called the holy bible I'm sure u can find it at ur local book store an he cares a lot about us are u aware that he died so he can rid us of our sins you should feel welcome in the kingdom of God. And it's you who's rejecting him not him rejecting you you just need to accept him and spread his word and you will get to heaven. It such a shame that conversations like this

lol I agree fully with extra chances, which is why 99% of the time I don't judge people. But trolls like that, if they act like that in real life, they tend to be the suicidal, but also homicidal type. I would rather them just kill themselves then commit a Sandy-hook, columbine, aurora colorado type incident. I don't feel bad for trolls, they wallow in their misery and try to make others feel bad too. Just don't make others feel bad and I won't care. Make the world better, not worse.

  88. 724Broncofan

I agree normally telling people to kill themselves is troll-ish, however only if that person isn't a troll. I only told him to kill himself because of the type of person he is. His life is so pathetic, he gets off by trying to get other people mad and feel bad about themselves. People like him screw this world up, and the world is much better off without people like that, so yes I hope he dies, so I told him to kill himself, the world is better off w/o him. Otherwise I wouldn't have said that.

  89. Lone Spartan

No, not at all. I didn't say he was wrong to believe in God or that when he dies nothing will happen at all, he/she'll simply just be dead. I also didn't express any ill will on that person. I simply stated what I perceived to be true, as did the person I replied to in the first place. I wasn't even angry, funny how people see a word like fuck and instantly think that person is angry. It was just used to accentuate the fact that if there was a God, I don't think it would be able or want to care.

  90. The Royal Spoon

I just don't get why you had to comment in the first place, and with so much anger. what's the point of being such a jerk? isn't what you said essentially the same as some bigoted Christian telling you that you are going to rot in hell for all eternity?

  91. 724Broncofan

I have a hard time believing is for many other reasons. Like science and practicality, but I don't deny that there is a chance I might be wrong.

  92. 724Broncofan

Dude, your mistake is the same as many atheists. This is coming from someone who doesn't believe by the way. You assume there is no higher reasoning then your own. An all loving God who loves people no matter what is hard to understand, but if its true then he is truly greater than all of us. Its kinda like a parent and a young kid, the kid thinks the parents must not love them if they won't let them do something. But the kid just isn't capable of understanding everything. The reason (cont)

  93. 724Broncofan

I am a troll? How am I a troll? Am I the one who went to a youtube page of a christian band and insult God looking for an argument? That is what a troll does. But it wasn't me it was B4rrowpwn. Then I insult him, for being a troll, and then you insulted me for a reason I don't know yet. So I assumed you were a troll, but if your not, then why did you insult me for insulting a troll? What did I do?

  94. Lone Spartan

I have no problem with people believing in God to be honest, I just don't like it when they expect other people to do the same. It just annoys me how someone can claim that "God loves them so much and no matter what!" I mean if there is a God and he loved everyone even if they were horrible people (murderers/rapists people like that) Then that God doesn't deserve worship. Go ahead and believe in your God, just don't claim to know it.

  95. The Royal Spoon

what are you trying to accomplish with that comment? why the anger? i'm not going to pretend to know your life or what you have been through, but i can tell that you are either 1.) an anti-theist trying to remove any thought of God from the world, 2.) an angry ex-Christian who is furious at God because he didn't get what he wanted out of religion (thus becoming 1) or 3.) you are a troll, in which case i am wasting my time.
whatever combination of the 3, i deeply pity you. good day and God bless

  96. Lone Spartan

Egocentric really isn't the right word to describe me, especially after that comment, jerk I understand though.

  97. 724Broncofan

You are so stupid you can't even come up with a coherent insult.. But I can't expect much from a troll I guess.
