Disciple Wake Up Comments
Really liking this tune, Disciple is one of my favorite band ever!
As a guitarist I prefer their guitar tone in Back Again, Disciple self titled album (!!), and Scars Remain (!!). Their sound is now more modern and polished, and more downtuned, but it feels actually less heavy to me. A bit "vanilla metal sounding", even though professional.
They had also huge bass in the past on some albums, adding nice raw head banging weight and making the riffs more significant without adding more distortion to the mix. The guitar tone felt gnarly, raw but heavy, greasy and fat, like roaring unashamed rock anthems guitars. A very distinct sound, without falling in the vanilla metal wannabe camp. Listen to Scars Remain track, chorus of Into Black, Regime Change, Rise Up, Game On, The Wait Is Over, Go Ahead...
But the voices on the new album are awesome, and the solos and composition is very good.
Wake up, Reanimate, Chemical Wisdom and Touch the pain are my favorites here :)
