Dirty Heads - Burials Lyrics
[Verse 1:]
Thought I'd found a home close to yours
On the outside of the fence
Oh, how I'd love to mark the grave
Insert our names on the stone
[Chorus:]
Forever
Forever
[Verse 2:]
It feels so far so far away
I'm calling every day, do you hear me
Where you going, I wanna know
Plunge the spade deep in soil
So you'll be near me
Insert our names it once told
[Chorus:]
Forever
Forever
As I grind up these remnants
Breathe it in blow it out to the emptiness
I act on love but sometimes my love is the deadliest
I feel the mood change when the high hits and these lights dim
These people are strange
I'm a stranger storm riding
She loves the shade
Below these leaves her body lays
Beneath this tree I placed a grave
Replaced her moon with roots and rain
And now she's mine
Forever more
She sleeps beneath my garden
And when flowers grow from bloody soil
It makes them ultraviolet, my love
[Chorus:]
Forever
Forever

This is my favorite song from my favorite band✌💞
Im getting a cool marley vibe , esp on the chorus! DH rox!
It's a Calypso rhythm. It's awesome.
Forever! That's what he's singing. Sorry, it sounds nothing like forever.
what is the chorus line? what are they singing? where's the liberato?
it's a great sounding chorus, but fuck if I know what J is singing.
this has been in my head !
I just seen them a few days ago.. crazy show, might have been the best one I seen yet
here we are 2 years later, new album that's been released, thoughts? I wasn't feeling this album too much, but the self titled album has beyond restored my faith in the boys
This song was actually written by Jamie Allensworth, so if you do like it he deserves the credit, he is an amazing artist.
thanks for the new artist to hear
Fucking great song
This song is awesome! If you listen to the lyrics, they are about loving someone and burying them in your back yard. I'm a murder kind of nerd and this song suits it. Good job dh
good job myself. good interpretation 😂😂
+Ian Crabtree haha haha nice
Not only that. Using her body as fertilizer for the herb he's smoking
WOW! these Dirty Heads are some of the best I have ever heard!
Love this song. Sounds a lot like "El Condor Pasa" by Simon & Garfunkel.
They aren't even close to the same anymore.
They were my favorites.
This and sound of change is my favorite song off the new album and my sweet summer is good to
So good
can anyone figure out the lyrics to this tune? not so much the raps, the part where there's a bunch of voices singing
lord ifound a home.,close to yoursss...on the outside of the fence. ohh how I loved to mark the grave and set her name on a stone
thts the begning^^^
If you are talking about the background singing after each rap its Forever....... Forever...
I'm honestly kind of disappointed in this album so far. I've loved them for a few years now. Maybe the more I listen to it I'll like it more. I love the Dirty Heads anyway.
You will. I did ;)
Yeah, I love it now! Haha. Funny how that works (:
Much time has past, the DH are just fuckin great!! One of my all time faves from them. Sounds amazing and reminds me of my love😚 and my love for the DH too😚
I'd like to hear the story behind this song...
I wasn't a fan of this album until this track. A little something for everyone I guess.
Didn't thought of it before... But you are right there's a song for every style, I actually like a lot this album except running for your life
@BootstrapOdin
TOTALLY DIGGING THIS TRACK!!
Can't commend this album enough. This is epic on the level of the Doors, and more recently, U2. Bring the heat.....I know I am going to catch hell, but the statement is dead on accurate. Good job DH.
Love the Dirty Heads, 've been listening to them since their demo, glad that they want to grow as a band, just disappointed in their direction.
@Mike Comrie I get not liking the effects, but you hear synth?
@xbjohnson what the hell are you talking about. Obviously it's created by some kind of machine or computer, what traditional instrument makes a fucking electronic noise, a side from The Terminator bouncing his balls on your chin.
I can press one button on a Casio Keyboard and magically make a beat, does that mean I can produce an album? Just because someone strings a bunch of electronic thumps and claps together doesn't prove anything. Give DJ Thumpfuck a guitar and see what happens, he probably just bangs on it and tries to click the strings after he draws a half eaten apple on the back.
@Mike Comrie I'm going to miss their old style too, but I'm not disappointed in the direction they went, they have always been changing their style this change is just more radical, what I hope for is that they remember the music that got them started and don't leave all their old fans behind who got them to where they are in exchange for a newer more commercial sound
Just like most bands that have looked for change and found themselves consumed with the idea that they need to try something different, I will forget this album even existed. I will see them next year, or the year after, when they get their shit together and do what they do best.
I love how every song seems like it's gunna be killer in concert. It seems like what they put out in studio is for popularity, but in concert it's gunna be the way it's intended to be heard and in concert it will be epic, I can feel it.
Just saw them in concert a few days agog and u are right. Every song was kick ass and so much more.
This one is much better than the singles I hope the rest of the album is like this
