I'm a 19 year old boy.....my dad introduced me to Dire straits including smokie,GnR, Mr big ,Europe, CCR, Skid row, Van halen, Acdc, the Eagles, Anne Murray,dolly parton,Don Williams and most of the 70's,80's songs....Thank you Dad for having a Good taste in music and tho those who disliked this music.....oh well Stop listening to modern era songs(mumble rap, k pop, and all those useless musics)

This song gives me the same feeling when I first fell in love. The feeling of holding hands for the first time with someone I love. And the first kiss of course. It comes once and such a beautiful thing to remember. Mark knofler is something else. He is definitely a versatile guitar player and his voice adds much more to his playing.

This video is mimed, if you look at Marks guitar starting at 1:40 you will see that it isn't plugged in to the amp you can see the lead hanging loose, yet at 2:26 you see it is now plugged in! Then again at 3:58 it is unplugged.
If you look even closer, you can see that David is playing the rhythm on a telecaster, when the rhythm audio track is clearly being played by Mark on his resonator. There is also no piano in the video.

Mark Knopler is amazing.
I loved this song since forever and was quite amazed to find that there's actually a video for it...obviously from the same TV session when they shot Sultans..Funny enough the resonator is missing but then again there's also a third acoustic guitar and even piano[!] on this song. I love the way Mark was so shy and explosive with energy back in those early days even on such a quiet intimate song. Today he seems numb on stage, saw him live last year, although it was a great show, still it left wanting for that ..exciting energy of the early dIRE sTRAITS years
