Jesus these lyrics are hard to hear/read. I hope Kyo gets the help he needs before he hurts himself. If he really wants to die so badly I hope that the rest of the band and his friends/family help him through his struggles and he can find some peace of mind.

Man, and I thought Arche (at least, from the translations I could find) was a reflective meditation of the nature of pain and suffering. The Insulated World is just throwing oneself into the torment all over again, like a relapse. That might be the main cohesive theme of this album — relapsing after (presumably) having gotten clean.

Not a masterpiece and it's a mix between Arche and The Marrow of a Bone.

Since everyone has different opinions, as seen in these answers, it's no use comparing this album to anything. To me all albums after Macabre are one of their bests. It's the beauty in their ability evolve and try new things fearlessly and succesfully.

in my opinion, its more like vulgar and wtd, arche and dss are more of their spiritual album theme. anyways i love all

@Sadistic Inori The abrasiveness is all intentional so I fuck with it. Especially live.

WTD was pretty basic with some great stand out tracks. Uroboros and DDS are their magnum Opus, and you'd be disappointed forever if you compared their stuff to them constantly. That said, I respect your opinion, but it's grown on me a lot. It's not objectively bad, but a lot of the feeling and nuance on the first half of the album is lost with the poor mixing, but it's amazing live. Well worth it. I hated this track before I heard it at a concert, and then the sheer enegy and aggression of it hooked me. But really, the album as a whole is not bad at all. It has a few forgettable tracks, but Zetsuentai, Aka and the singles keep me happy as an uroboros fanboy.

I don't want this to come off as argumentative or whatever. It's just my perspective. Another thing to note is that Kaoru had less involvement in the writing than usual, so this might be why itm pales in complexity when compared to their other stuff. After Arche's reverb-heavy metal songs that I just didn't feel at all, the raw aggression of this album is refreshing.

But while nobody should be mad at the band for doing what they want and not making music that lands perfectly with them every time, nobody should be telling you that you have shit taste or whatever. Just enjoy what you enjoy and rock on <3 @Joseph Rabozzi

@Vermin This whole album is straight up boring. I honesty cannot believe this is the same band that made Withering to Death and Uroboros. Those records are both masterpieces but this is just so tired sounding. I'm not even trying to hate. It's just my opinion, but it makes me sad to think that these guys will probably never sound that good again.

@Joseph Rabozzi I strongly disagree but whatever man. There will always be people not satisfied with Diru's work I guess. Some people hate WTD and Uroboros too. A band can never please everybody.

@Vermin Hey man, I get it. If you enjoy this record that's great. This album's for you. It's just not for me apparently. Plus this band has been so many styles. I just can't say I'm a fan of this recent style shift, which is why I also wasn't impressed with Arche.
