I was singing this song at work i didnt realize i was singing loud enough for a lot of people at work to hear me. I was on the roof singing i thought i was quietly singing to myself. When i came down after my lunch break some of the ladies were standing at my desk and they all wanted to know who hurt and me and broke my heart.....then she walked in the one who broke my heart and a lone tear when down my face. Somehow they all figured it out.

This is the ORIGINAL of the song before Bobby Vee recorded his. Laurie Records were absolutely correct in burying Dion's rather limp version on an LP. It really is a very ordinary song without the semi-spoken intro. When the song came to his attention, Snuff Garrett was spot-on asking for an intro to be written for Bobby Vee's superior hit version.
