What people in the comments recognize as "Kashmir" is not so much the guitar part which is a semitone change back and fourth (whereas in Kashmir there's an alteration of a progression of five semitones), as the drum part which is perhaps made popular by Zep but otherwise super common rhythm in rock - bass - snare - bass - snare. Monstrous and completely original Dio composition. This coming from a hardcore Zep fan.

If you think this sounds like Kashmir you have a very limited experience with music, like most metal fans, unfortunately....also, all metal doesn't really come from other metal....there's a world of music out there. This sounds influenced more by modern music....try Rye Coalition side of the K.A.R.P./Rye Coalition split. That sounds NOTHING like Kashmir but a WHOLE lot like this. I find cats you wouldn't think like Dio or fucking Mick Jagger seem to know all these rare original records and the fans are being SHOWN sounds of the times they really don't know shit about. Great album, and was fortunate to catch this tour in 2002 with Deep Purple, and 2003 with Maiden.  I often wonder if his old band mates from the Ronnie and the Red Cap days listened to his music, and caught him on tour?

when i said 2 trageys in my life, i meant in dio's life the 1st he said was personnal, the 2nd was the towers coming down.

when i saw dio do this song in person he said there have been 2 big tragedys in my life, the 1st is personal, now the 2nd was seen the trade centers come down, so he did this song as a tribute to 9/11 he said no matter what we still have rock and roll, his words thats what he said at the concert at the house of blues, this was in november of 2002. very powerful song if you place close attention, you will see his talking about 9/11 and no matter what we still have rock and roll. r.i.p. ronald james padavona dio.
