Dinosaur Jr. - Raisans Lyrics
The lights exploded
She stood burning in front of me
She ripped my heart out beating
My eyes wouldn't open, cemented to her face
Have I begun a feeble chase?
I'll be down, I'll be around
I'll be hanging where eventually you'll have to be
I'll just stare and hope you'll care
It's only everything standing in front of me
I know what you did to me
I know what you did was wrong
You're allowed to torture me
Wait a moment until I'm gone
I know you're the ticket, you gotta be
Got to be so completely
Got to be so I can't hang on
(you're killing me)
I'll be down, I'll be around
I'll be hanging where eventually you'll have to be
I'll just stare and hope you'll care
It's only everything standing in front of me
I'll be down, I'll be around
I'll be hanging where eventually you'll have to be
Then that man is standing there
Now you'll have to decide the fate of my sanity

Golden years of rock, man. Fuck I miss the energy from back in the day :)
Still my favorite surf Psych tune!
About 15 years ago when I was really nuts I told my wife I wanted this tune played at my funeral, now I still Love it but not so sure
Love this song
it hurts me that this has only 123K views in over 10 years. Seriously wtf is wrong with kids these days? millions of views in a week for sheer bs, and this... masterpiece... okay internet, fu.
nice feet tho
^ loser alert
headnoise

headnoise boyz
I wonder if J has ever wanted to go back and record this except this time using the right notes. :)
No way man. This song is perfect, especially that insane bend in the solo...that's one of my favorite J moments in history.
it sounds like Lou stopped playing at 2:13 and hit a bum note at 2:16
singing like Jay is actually hard
Maybe there are more better solos around, but for me, that is the best solo that I ever listened in my entire life, ever.
How did 8 people dislike this? Obviously never made it to that sick solo!!
amazing, so blessed to have seen them live.
The Butcher!!!
this is definitely the sound of being a teenager! I still love all the old Dinosaur stuff and still listen to it and it never ever gets old...
this has incredible sound quality
just incredible
Raisins
funny joke xddddddd
get the fuck out
I love me some J.R for sure my fav forever , but when they came to Indy W/ Jane's Addiction in 2016 they broke my heart with there set. Ignored there best stuff (older stuff) for 80 percent or better of newer shit which I like but come on everyone was there for older j.r just disappointed alot.
A rule of life: Your heroes WILL disappoint you.
this guy is a weak-willed twerp.
death u would know about being WeaK
death im pretty sure thats the appeal and why dino jr resonates with teenagers
death Dinosaur jr is the shit boi
goin Monday i hope they play
I know it's probably been said many times before but I feel like Dinosaur Jr is the most underrated alternative rock band on God's green earth I am dead serious. for as influential as they are on a lot of bands I'm surprised you don't ever hear more about them. there's just something about that slacker voice that J mascis has and the shredding Man that is kind of the ultimate alt rock guitar solo
dude his regular non singing mans voice coupled with his sonic guitar shredding embodies everything modern humans hsve felt... the relevancy could probably be felt any age post 70
Well, they are actually pretty highly rated. Not exactly underrated at all... Lou Barlow's other band Sebadoh is probably more underrated altho they are still highly acclaimed by critics.
thank you.. i grew up with this..Nirvana wasnt something new to me....dinosaur and even Sonic Youth...grunge was there in the early 90s..there where the Pixies... The melvins...and then Friends turned to me and said bbbooaah Nirvana...what a Sound...not Nirvana..it was the Melvins..Dinosaur..Sonic Youth...Fugazi...Hendrix and even listen to J Guitar Work...sometimes i think jimmy looks at J and mentions: welll done Kid..its all bout sound...not attitude..
Dinosaur is awesome. I love all their songs, and they deserved mroe recognition

So powerful, so amazing!
the butcherrr!!!
Favourite Dino track for me. Just no way around it. The solo is sick!
J can play man he dont joke around when it comes to riffing around
@Wickedvoid96 My favorite Dinosaur Jr. song is Little Fury Things from the same album, one of my favorite songs of all time as such. This one features of the best guitar solos in rock history though, the short intro solo to Grab It from Without a Sound is another one. J. Mascis is without doubt up there with the absolute best rock guitarists of all time.
@Noise Ninja Fury Things & this one are my two favs from DJ. Amazing stuff.
Commander Venus and deseparcidos we're super good but I just can't get into bright eyes. No hate but dinosaur Jr>most
Those background voices were secretly recorded by Lou when he worked in a mental hospital.
great music sent me here
I'll be down, I'll be around
I'll be hanging where eventually you'll have to be
I'll just stare and hope you'll care
NOW YOU HAVE TO DECIDE THE FATE OF MY SANITY
good, fuck the military.
you're killing me / you're killing me...
Best Album Ever
New Faith In Gloss
You're killin me, you're killin me
that solo is f*cking face-melting. It just keeps going...
God I fucking hate the Battlefield 3 ads.
remember learning this song sophomore year highschool, singing in the art class at military academy. i then dropped out. art is beautiful
best guitar solo of all time.
we're all allowed to have our own opinions about music you know.......
This song ROCKS !!! :-)
1:50 I don't know why but I love that part! And obviously the whole song too!
ive probably owned this album for a good 2 1/2-3 months now, this song, on my ipod, has 1930 plays
@bradford8232 If you payed attention to the lyricism and the concepts behind his songs you would obviously not have the same opinions you do now. I listen to and appreciate all different styles and genres, from Dinosaur Jr. to J Dilla and everything in between.. it's quite ignorant of you to talk down upon my knowledge of music because you don't like Conor Oberst any longer. Use that jr. high mentality and broaden your horizon once again, cause it sounds like with age came close-mindedness.
@bradford8232 Because Conor Bberst is a brilliant songwriter number one, and number two, @mrfudgeyhead inquired how one could derive Bright Eyes from Dinosaur Jr.. open your fuckin ears people.
The butcher's song.
@mrfudgeyhead Have you ever heard commander venus? Conor Obersts project prior to bright eyes when he was 13-16? The Dino Jr. influence can EASILY be picked out..
This is so shit..
Wow. It's mindblowing that a long-haired leaping gnome can shred like that.
2:33 - 3:20 pure awesomeness!
i FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG
you're a friend of mine!
Diego the butcher Suffer the joy
@fistikuffs is your name by any chance talking about primus' song fisticuffs?
@fistikuffs I wish I knew too, and where it's from.
@BigCopout Actually, the guitars mixed very forward on the remastered version reminded me a lot of Iggy & The Stooges' masterpiece.
They were right to release "You're Living All Over Me" (1987) in a perfect remastered version in 2005 for it makes you feel the sonic power of the record. The definitive successor to "Raw Power" (1973) by Iggy & The Stooges!
I agree! It's like the song is just going along then the solo just slides in, but like fast, and yea, energetic.
You're living all over me!
Great album name, RIGHTEOUS album!!!
I played this with my old band, I used a whammy pedal set to one octave below,
I love the way mascis jumps in with the solo. So energetic!
Definitely chorus.
My guess would be chorus and the whammy bar.
Got a tear in my eye.
awesome song by an awesome band.
