Dinosaur Jr. - Quicksand Lyrics
I'm closer to the Golden Dawn
I can't believe the wagon's gone
It's history
I'm living in a callous realm
Where others seem to dig it
I'm frightened by the total goal
I'm drawing to the ragged hole
And I ain't got the wagon anymore
No, I ain't got the wagon anymore
I'm the twisted name on Uma's eyes
I'm living proof of Cindy's lies
Of destiny
I'm drawing between the light and dark
Where others see their targets
I can't see anything
To listen to that mountain song
Sinking in the quicksand of my thoughts
And I ain't got the wagon anymore
Don't believe in yourself
Don't deceive with belief
The knowledge comes with death's release
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Not too stable
Hanging by a string
Can't face the thoughts
No wheels will bring
I gotta go
It's bad enough being at home
Without a way to leave the damage
Is gonna show
If I don't explain
What you oughta know
You can tell me all about it
At the next ball show
I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thoughts
And I ain't got the power anymore
Don't believe in yourself
Don't deceive with belief
The knowledge comes with death's release
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Don't believe in yourself
Don't deceive with belief
The knowledge comes with death's release
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Don't believe in yourself
Don't deceive with belief
The knowledge comes with death's release
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Andy Warhol can't tell them apart at all. Can't tell them apart no. S a t i s f a c t i o n.
Excellent version of Bowies best song
I don't even know why people are so mad. It's a COVER obviously. Let me say that again COVER. This is a great dinosaur Jr cover in my opinion
Great homage cover. Can't beat the original but J did good work. Damn, nearly 30 years passed since Wagon.
A terrible abomination! "Generica" would be a better name for this band, who appear to have not an ounce of understanding of the meaning of the masterpiece that is Bowie's original. It certainly has nothing to do with vehicles and "ball shows", (whatever they might be). God... what mindless pap! It makes me feel tainted with their mediocrity just BEING on this page!
I don't even know what to say...
Cool it buddy its just a cover. dont get so salty my god you sound like a child
David Bowie :) I love it when Mascus "hawks the loogie"
i'm the twisted name on uma's eyes. lol we love ya J
I like how it starts off with them playing Bowie's Andy Warhol and then merges into Quicksand.
"Knowledge comes with gas release huh " knowledge comes with farting huh that what he said
Hey at 1:17 1:18 ish... is that a cough?
It’s the same (or similar) pop sound effect they used at the beginning of “feel the pain”

I can't see anything
Should I leave the engine on
To listen to that mountain song
Sinking in the quicksand of my thoughts
And I ain't got the wagon anymore

Don't deceive with belief

Car-less realm. The wagon's gone, man. It's about his car. He's from Massachussetts and drops his R's a little.
@johnny dangerously living in a colorless room, asked him in person on the set pf dead man at a party with Johnny depp and j mascis
@Tiffany Parzanici Haha cool story, but false. It's about not having his car (the wagon) anymore. Car-less in his New England Massachusetts accent drops the "r" sound.
not bad vocals. sounds like bowie with an slight American twang. guitars sound good
Andy Warhol, Quicksand. Bowie mash up!
I heard this in my Photography class today. I was so confused at first, because it started off sounding like Andy Warhol, then it wasn't David Bowie and the lyrics were also different.
dinosaur also do a great cover of everything flows
new lyrics !?...oh no ...go to hell
AHHHHHHH please STOP!!!
Very well said! An abomination! Please stop NOW!
Oh no. Please stop
Am I the only one who's hearing the end of "Master of Puppets" by Metallica in this?
should I leave the engine on to listen to that mountain song. .....
great song!
Why change his lyrics to this slacker crap?
RIP Bowie
The bulldog on the cover has eye heterochromia. Subtle touch DJr.
+SuperSparrow45 David Bowie didn't have heterochromia though
@little welchs Yes an intriguing finding. However, it still is pretty Bowie-like.
That dog is dead.
Aw, no one has this live
better than the original
No.
Just no.
I love this cover but I don't think it's better than the original in any regard.
Hemmm... No
There's something wrong with you. It's problably not your fault; it's your generation; you've been encouraged to appreciate mindless pap... generica! Generica would be a better name for this band, who appear to have not an ounce of understanding of the masterpiece that is Bowie's original. It certainly has nothing to do with vehicles and "ball shows", (whatever they might be). God... it makes me feel tainted with their mediocrity just BEING on this page!
JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA. What a taste! 😱😬.
Pretty good version!
Bowie sucks.
You suck.
Always the perfect cover... Soz Mr Bowie, but that's just spot on...
I'm closer to the golden dawn
I can't believe the wagon's gone
It's history
"Should I leave the engine on to listen to that mountain song"
the lovelsong for my early years of college.. sitting on the curb in SD waiting for my skare bf. awwwww. good memories..........................." should I leave the engine on to listen to that mountain song... "
I love the different interpretation Dinosaur Jr. takes with this one.
Norman Reedus sent me here!!! THANKS BABE
WOW!!! LIOVE THIS!!!
valeu molusco
A song like this, so fucking awesome, has to be from David Bowie.
I never knew this was a David Bowie song until today. I've loved the Dinosaur Jr. version since the early 90s.
@pojugalo yes its still a cover
I accidentally ended up with this album when I was in high school. I remember it being nearly completely un-listenable, but this one gem, it's a great song.
I love how the intro is "Andy Warhol" and then it turns into "Quicksand".
J has covered The Smiths, The Cure and now Bowie... He is just a little too cool to be true :O
Didn't realize this a cover of David Bowie. Wow!
