Difranco, Ani - Bodily Lyrics
You broke me bodily
The heart ain't the half of it
And I'll never learn to laugh at it
In my good natured way
In fact I'm laughing less in general
And I knew you'd be the death of me
So I guess that's the price I pay
I'm trying to make new memories
In cities where we fell in love
My head just barely above
The darkest water I've ever known
You had me in that cage
You had me jumpin through those hoops for you
Still, I think I'd stoop for you
From that bomb shell moon in yet another lovely dress
To the deep mahogany sheen of a roach
I am trying to take an appreciative approach
To life in your wake
I focus on the quiet now
And occasionally I'll fall asleep somehow
And emptiness has its solace
In that there's nothing left to take

mICKEY SAYING HEY BABY HEY
hey honey pie. I've been thinking about you
I saw her play this live, when it was new, when she was going through her divorce and was doing concerts in a chair because of a knee injury. I cried for her as she sang so raw and broken and real that night... it is one of my most haunting / beautiful memories.
do you happen to remember when that tour was? I also saw her when she was chair bound but can't remember what year it was. I'm thinking part of 2002/2003, but solo.
pada malam itu, naik lah dua doa permohonan gaib ;
sedang engkau terisak meminta aku agar hilang dari hatimu,
dan aku hanya meminta kamu padaNYA dengan sisa cahaya yang redup disana.
Lalu tuhan pun menertawakan..
the art is amazing. yours?

Ani is great, which is why I re uploaded videos I made years ago. thank you for watching, and for the compliment.
I think Ani put poetry back into music, somehow rare these days. She is great.
By the way most of your uploads Ashley are really great too, thanks.
"emptiness has its solace in that there's nothing left to take." I can really feel how raw her emotions are in this song. Absolutely one of my favorites from her.
you're welcome and thank you
