when i turned 18 back in 98 my mother bought me this. to this day one of the best gifts ever. because it came from her and because this is a real masterpiece

From 3:55 to the end is some of the most gut-wrenching, hair-raising singing ever performed by Bruce.

I know...it joins with the Chemical Wedding song...so awesome!

@N0rth3rnP1k3 I can't wait for Bruce's next solo record. He has said publically that he has a lot of it written already. I asked Bruce about it at one of his book signings and he said "hopefully soon".

I loved this album a lot, and also really liked Accident Of Birth. I also liked Blaze Bailey era Maiden. It's good Dickenson took a break from Maiden, both parties did really cool things that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
Also, I'm sure management wouldn't have let Maiden play a war zone, and that needed to happen.

The Chemical Wedding and Accident of Birth are Magnificent albums.

Quite 10 years after the first time, it makes me cry. The hole album is more than "metal".

This song could fit easily in Book of Souls.

Beautifully Depressed disagree completely,Book Of Souls and Final Frontier are the two best post Blaze Bayley albums. All are great though.

Matter of fact,the title cut for Book Of Souls is among the strongest Maiden title cuts,and that is saying alot.

i love how the whole time your reminded of the chemical wedding since its timing of the rythim is near identical and just when you think its not the same song it turns into it XD

that is the best part!

Revisiting melodies and ideas with such good taste really lifts the album to the next level. Another great example with Stone Sour's House of Gold & Bones revisiting Absolute Zero. And it's funny because the other song is on The House of Gold & Bones pt.2 and the other on pt.1

This album is a unique and very interesting experiment by Bruce. In one song he reproduces the musical style of Black Sabbath, in another we hear something that sounds much like Ozzy, then next one resembles Iron Maiden, after that - Dio, Judas Priest etc. Greates Gods of Metal and he is one of them any day.
Lovely stuff. Get well soon, Bruce! We would have prayed for you had there been any god.

Problem is that the first couple of Bruce's albums were actually not enough heavy and somewhat less than Metal. It explains why his solo carrier was a mixed story as compared to blazing success of Iron Maiden. Later ones, like AoB, Chemical Wedding and, of cause, Tyranny of Souls were much much better. Bruce seems to have returned to his original self, as we, fans, know it. The title track of ToS is one of the most glorious creations of the entire genre. It is breathtakingly beautiful...
