I like this semi-concept album. Take a cover picture of William Blake, just super. I also like the font for the name of the album, however, the font for the words of Bruce Dickinson I would have done in a slightly different style, more aggressive, but written in the cursive of course. It would be cool to have edition of that vinyl where the box is like a picture with a real frame around the edges.

I have my baby brother to thank for buying solo Bruce's cd's for me to listen to. I hadn't bought any solo Bruce's CD's once he left Maiden. I kinda figured he would maybe NOT be metal and I would HATE his solo stuff. BUT, my baby brother and his plentiful "disposable income" had purchased most or all of Bruce's solo stuff, and I got to listen to it and discovered that it was all really great stuff. I am about 12 years older than my baby brother, BUT, he had purchased all or almost all of Bruce's solo stuff, and I am happy that I got to hear it all and I LOVE it. When you get "older" you have LESS "disposable income" meaning, "Money to spend all willy nilly" you can buy stuff you WANT not just stuff you NEED.

It's a different kind of love song.

@Θάνος Αλε These arent apples and bananas, your analogy is false. They are two bands and two singers. Sabbath are clearly significantly better and Ozzy has a very distinctive voice which I prefer. Bruce is a great singer, no argument there. The question was "How can Ozzy be more famous than Bruce? Well its obvious, Sabbath are one of the best bands ever and invented the genre.

I broke up with my girlfriend the night I heard this song for the first time. I stopped at a gas station to think for awhile and the radio was on. This song started to play and I never heard it before so it sounded new. It was such a good song I nearly forgot about my girlfriend, later I found the song. Listened to it over and over again that night fighting through the pain. Won't ever forget that time.

I get what Nick is saying. I'll say something similar without knocking the new works too much. This album is far superior to anything Maiden has released since 7th son. Maiden record production is stuck in a time warp, and not in a comforting way. What makes this record, as well as accident of birth age so well is Roy Zs ability to meld the classic stylings of Bruce and Adrian with his more modern guitar tones and overall production techniques. It's really a shame RoyZ wasn't brought in to produce for maiden from brave new world on after. They could have used a fresh set of ears. But like most ultra successful acts they end up with yes men behind the board to produce.

You do realise a lot of book of souls was originally for his next solo album. You plonker

One of Bruce Dickinson's best songs ever.... I wish the rest of the album would be more in this style, with light and shade, in terms of sound. A lot of the rest is pretty heavy and dark. But I still like The Chemical Wedding pretty much.

@Kateřina Konečná No arguments there. I happen to like the two Blaze-era albums a lot, much more than No Prayer for the Dying or Fear of the Dark. I just think Chemical Wedding and Accident of Birth are superior to all those albums.

@Tom W The material from No Prayer and Fear of the Dark never did it for me. Doesn't mean they're bad albums mind you. In my opinion Bruce and Adrian did a better job with Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding.
