Diana Ross - You're All I Need To Get By Lyrics

When I was just a little girl
I wanted the world at my feet
Now all that's changed
'Cause I have love
And now I do can see
You're all I need to get by

Like the sweet morning dew
I took one look at you
And it was plain to see
You were my destiny
With arms open wide
I threw away my pride
I'll sacrifice for you
Dedicate my life to you

I will go, where you lead
Always there in time of need
And when you lose your will
I'll be there to push you up the hill
There's no, no looking back for us
We've got love
Sure enough
That's enough

You're all I need to get by
All, you're all I need to get by

Like an mother protects his nest
For you I'll do my best
Stand by you like a tree
Dare anybody to try to move me
Darling in you I found
Strength where I was torn down
Don't know what's in store
But together we can open any door

Just to do what's good for you
And inspire you a little higher
I know you can make a woman
Out of a soul that didn't have a goal
'Cause we, we got the right foundation
And with love and determination

You're all I want to strive for and do a little more
All, all the joys under the sun wrapped up into

You're all I need to get by
All, you're all I need to get by

Love to wake up to this version.

Go ahead now and produce a great day.

This song is excellent example of Diana Ross' work ethic.

This is grander than the original version.

A song you can love, work and dream up.

The day that this song was recorded should be a National Holiday in the country where you first heard it.!!!!!😀

  9. S.... ....

Love her vocals on this track - her first solo album (where this is taken from) is fantastic.

  10. c.... m....

Diana Ross truly is SUPREME & THE BOSS!!! Berry Gordy knew what he was doing; her voice is angelic and those eyes, "captivating". Class act!!!

    c.... m....

  12. D.... O....

    I prefer this version...

  13. C.... P....

Best version of this song ever. Great Ashford and Simpson track - they were the best producers for our girl.

  18. M.... ....

I really like the little vocal intro that doesn't appear in any other version of the song. Diana really does this Ashford & Simpson song justice. It's lovely.

  19. G.... A....

This is a very good version of an already great song.

  20. m.... r....

Does anyone know who the background singers are on this song?  There's a man's voice in there.  Could they be Ashford/Simpson?

    m.... r....

    Chad Ewing
    The singer's ate the Andamtes

    m.... r....

    Woops...I meant "are"not "ate."

  21. S.... J....

Nick Ashford & Valerie Simpson + Diana Ross = Match Made In Heaven point blank period!! Love her version.

    S.... J....

@Speedy Jefferson I completely agree with you.  They were meant for each other.

    S.... J....

@mike ritchie I had her solo album for years and the CD the album gives me life each time I play it.

    S.... J....

That's really true. The Deke Richards produced *_'Everything is Everything'_* (the follow up to this debut solo album) wasn't quite as good but *_'Surrender'_*, the Ashford & Simpson produced (and written) follow up to *_'Everything'_*... was! :) And then later, *_'The Boss'_* was another great Ross/Ashford/Simpson gem.

  22. R.... ....

    NA$TY and G the Villain

  23. S.... B....

    nice version, diana sings fine.

  24. F.... P....

Sing girl.....a young Diana at her best......

  25. B.... ....

Proof that one's voice doesn't have to sound like a tuba to have soul. This performance has soul and much more

  26. A.... L....
