Diana Ross - Can I Go On? Lyrics

Lose it?
Lose it?
I don't even know the first thing
About what they're feeling
What am I afraid of?
Don't know what I'm made of
Can I go on
Not knowing?

Feeling?
Feeling?
Something tells me
That it's more than I can deal with
Though I never knew the song
Some words still catch on
Like caring and sharing
Being together no matter

Can I go on
Not knowing?
Don't know what I'm made of
Why am I afraid of feeling?
Feeling?
If I dare to take a chance
Would someone lead me?

    The best version

I really like the addition of this song and how it characterizes this Dorothy. While I don't much care for Diana's overacting facial expressions, her voice is perfect and captures how this Dorothy is someone who hasn't really "lived" and never has stepped outside of her comfort zone.

    O.... ....

OrangeXenon54 I wouldn’t call it overacting, but I know what you’re saying. I think her performance is actually underrated and the expressions on her face here and elsewhere in scenes convey a turmoil in a woman stricken with (social) anxiety and possibly a touch of autism. Diana makes Dorothy more complex than the script does through the pain in her eyes and across that beautiful face.

    O.... ....

@Jarred Knox I think that this movie is so misunderstood. When you realize all the characters are just pieces of who dorothy is. She's caught in a vortex (tornado) that brings her into a world where she feels she doesn't belong. She is forced to reckon with who she really is... as she goes on a journey searching for "god" waiting for this mystical man to save her and all any of us really needs is to realize that WE have the power within to change our circumstances if we just believe in ourselves and stop searching for something outside of us. Truly a magical movie.

@Jarred Knox I will say that I absolutely love and feel the emotion of Diana displays in "Home". So raw, real, and joyful.

Diana Ross playing a young girl ? Child please ......

counsellor 01433 she’s not playing a young girl. She’s playing a 24 year old. And the book never mentions Dorothy’s age

This is the scene where Lulabelle (Ariana Grande) sings this song when her loving Mother Lorraine (Gillian Vigman) is in Paris, longing to see her again.

This makes me want to break down and cry. My God this brings back so many childhood memories for me. I was just a little boy about 4 or 5 years when the Whole Movie the Wiz came out around 1978 right along with this Song here. Ms. Diana Ross always did have that very sweet smooth voice that when ever she starts Singing, it just goes through my SOUL. Praise God.

I love this part ...because of the background music ...so soulful ;)
