They should've made her arrangement a bit softer and more country-styled. Her actual best moment in the song was the quieter first verse. She could've killed it, just in a slightly different way. It was unfair to make both singers do the same music style. Only one was going to really excel at power ballad/pop soul style.

Diana had a great voice, but Fantasia delivered this song so powerfully. You felt like you were listening to her story. Fantasia sealed her win with her version.

I watched this after watching Fantasia's version to compare. You can literally see how Fantasia blended with the choir at some point and turned the place into a church. As Randy said, "that's how you do it!"

Oh God I never knew there was a contestant that sung this the same time. I love her voice. But geesh Fantasia sung this song with overwhelming emotion had my body feeling like what she was doing to the song like I was flying. Made me cry snot nose crying still does when I go back n watch. Brian Hagaman This is a pop song. The is the type of song that would be perfect for Dianna’s voice had she sang it better. Besides the choir in the last 30 seconds this would be a Disney Princess song. Fantasia sold the song better. She poured herself into the song in a way that Dianna didn’t.

Amy Johansen I think it was more tailored for Diana. It’s one of those “Disney inspirational” songs that fits Diana’s voice better. Fantasia has a more throw back Aretha Patti type of voice. Fantasia just sold it better.

I remember this night too. Diana was just one note of the 3rd song away from pulling off the biggest upset ever.... until she CHOKED.

I wouldn't say she choked, I think some definite shady business was going on. The music in her earpiece wasn't working for her third song and then music blasted in her ear causing her to hit that note. Not saying production did it on purpose but it' suspicious. That along with having almost no voice left, she was never going to be able to kill it like she normally could.

All this yes, and on top this , Fantasia, walking the fucking dog on this bitch. And having more vocals on the tip of her tongue, than Diana possess in her entire diaphragm. Theres not an ear piece, or microphone that could have made this chick sound better than Fantasia

Yeah, they should have almost had a week break before the finale. Katharine/Lauren/Kelly/Carrie etc a lot of people had shot voices / sicknesses during their final week.

I remembered the Judges bashed Kris Allen too in 2009. However, he pulled off the biggest upset ever (which was also a big FUCK YOU to the Judges). I also believe Kris got the supporters of Danny, Allison & Matt to overcome the Lambert Maniacs.
