Diamond, Neil - Reminisce For A While Lyrics

Being here is being where I want to be
I don't suppose you'll ever know
How much you mean
And for all of the heartaches
We've been through
I know that I
Could not forget my time with you

I'd much rather stay
But I'll be on my way
And never again see you smile
For all that it's worth,
I'd move heaven and earth
To just reminisce for a while

There was a time
I had the will to carry on,
But I let go
Even though you're what I want
"Could have beens"
To keep you warm when I was gone
I never knew
That near to you's where I belong

I'd much rather stay
But I'll be on my way
And never again see you smile
For all that it's worth,
I'd move heaven and earth
To just reminisce for a while

I'd much rather stay
But I'll be on my way
And never again see you smile
For all that it's worth
I'd move heaven and earth
To just reminisce for a while
We'll just reminisce for a while

heard this song recently and coudn't put my finger on why the melody was so wonderful,  then i realised it was a Raul Malo co write (and performance) . 2 supreme writers producing a marvellous piece of music.   and it's the same album as a collaboration with another 'new country'  superstar the wonderful Beth Nielsen Chapman

This is a great song from on his Under Tennessee Moon CD. What surprised me is that it wasn't included on the DVD of the same name. Neil is still going strong touring Australia in November 2015, a definite legend of the music industry

  7. r.... ....

This song was played at my father's funeral July 24, 1996. He attended Neil's Boston-local concert about a week before he passed. This is such an appropriate song for our situation. I"m so glad that this song was written and by such a strong voice. It's timing was uncanny.

there are those voices that will always be in your pleasant memories and nothing can eradicate them.....Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson, Raul Malo, Norah Jones and a handful more, I strongly believe even Alzheimer cannot make me forget those beautiful singers.
