Diamond, Neil - Forever In Blue Jeans Lyrics

Money talks
But it don't sing and dance
And it don't walk
And long as I can have you
Here with me, I'd much rather be
Forever in blue jeans

Honey's sweet
But it ain't nothin' next to baby's treat
And if you pardon me
I'd like to say
We'll do okay
Forever in blue jeans

Maybe tonight
Maybe tonight, by the fire
All alone you and I
Nothing around
But the sound of my heart
And your sighs

Money talks
But it can't sing and dance
And it can't walk
And long as I can have you
Here with me, I'd much rather be
Forever in blue jeans, babe

And honey's sweet
But it ain't nothin' next to baby's treat
And if you pardon me I'd like to say
We'll do okay
Forever in blue jeans

Maybe tonight
Maybe tonight, by the fire
All alone you and I
Nothing around
But the sound of my heart
And your sighs

Money talks
But it don't sing and dance
And it don't walk
And long as I can have you
Here with me
I'd much rather be
Forever in blue jeans

And if you pardon me
I'd like to say
We'll do okay
Forever in blue jeans, babe
And long as I can have you
Here with me I'd much rather be
Forever in blue jeans, babe

This songs got special meaning to me as my dad used to sing and dance with all his kids to this song back in 2000 he held my two older twin brothers and sang and danced with them in his arms. In 2002 he held me and danced and sang with my brothers dancing around us and then in 2004 my brothers and I danced around my dad holding our baby sister good times

  32. Danimal1177

It starts off quiet, almost somber. By the end, Neil is belting out the lyrics with enthusiasm and energy. How many of us sang along in the car, quietly at first, and then letting it all hang out at the end, not caring one bit who might have seen or heard us because this song was so good that the only way to truly enjoy it was to turn the volume past 11 and let it all out! I cannot think of a modern song that makes me do that.

  33. Thomas Toepfer

If anyone didn’t know the story behind this song, when it was written people who typically wore blue jeans back then were considered blue collared, working class, people. Even though he has money he feels more comfortable in that lifestyle being with his love, living the real kind of life.

  76. Jamie Hardwick

To many youth listening to stereotype music that their parents or the pathetic media (bbc sky) say what music they should listen too. My friends that are black only listen to rap or R & B, absolutely crazy as they will not give other music a chance because they have been brought up to only listen to a typical type of music! Society will only survive if people open their eyes to all kinds of music!.
