I never understood this one thing in Scandinavia, where men are said to be retired at 65! It was a very difficult time for my dad, til he found away to do community work. Men, to me are a sum total and their Best in and about , after 60. Before that boys...It is one thing I love about America, you never have to retire, if you have the health , energy, and mind. Your life experiences are Pearls, to yourself and those you touch. Beautiful song.🇩🇰🇺🇸🦅🐬♥️

I have a slightly different view. Not being acquainted with Scandinavia, I surmise that with 65 being the retirement age, that is is not cast in stone; that if one so desires, one is able to remain in the workforce. It must come down to personal choice. I am guessing that, as a progressive society, the belief is that having worked all your working life that you are entitled to enjoy the fruits of the decades of your working life in your twilight years. Being a progressive/socialist society, the individual is valued more; their quality of life has a greater emphasis than in say, the dog eat dog aspects of the United States.

If I am not mistaken this song was featured on a proposed album titled Story of my Life together with some classics like, Heaven can Wait, Long Nights Hold On, I'm saying I'm sorry, Moonlight Rider etc. Columbia rejected it and forced him to record some substandard stuff (by his standards) and released the album as Headed for the Future, which was and still is arguably his worst album. It is remarkable that the record label can reject what could have been one of his best albums in the '80s and get him to replace it with arguably one of his worst. All I say is that Capitol should now release the original Story of my Life in its entirety. COME ON CAPITOL.

I do not think he looks very much like his mother. Take a look at the photos of his father when he was a young man. I think Neil inherited the best features of both his parents that made him look drop dead gorgeous when he was young, when the girls were screaming for him, the girls who would be women soon.

Upon closer inspection during the morph process, I noticed his Mum's characteristics in Neil. Rose is certainly gorgeous. Thanks for your comment Claudette. Neil certainly is on both counts. Akeeba Diamond was always proud of his son; indeed both of his sons. I remember an interview that Neil did where he mentioned that in the 60s when he was but a struggling young singer/songwriter, attending university, and helping out in his parents a dry-goods/haberdashery shop - "Diamond's" in Brooklyn, that his dad proudly displayed a photograph of Neil. He would proudly acclaim to customers that that was his son Neil and that he would one day be famous. How right he was! Best wishes, Doug
