Only just came across this (Jan 2019) & is now a favorite song. Janet Devlin you are a talented interpreter of songs - not only can you do interesting re-interpretations of other artists' songs but you have even done a cover of your own song. Both versions are brilliant. As an older person I thought I'd prefer the slower one, but by just a smidge, I prefer the faster one (today anyway). I can't agree with some of the commenters who think this forum is a 'design your own celebrity' computer game, telling you how you should have done it. (If they have that "superior" knowledge, why not post their own version on Youtube and show us how it's done!). A song is a story and the backing is "the set"; a part of the story. It's not some competition for sound space, as the musicians (including Janet) who created these versions, clearly know. I liked the "sit up and listen!" setting that this version's backing creates, as well as the more self-reflective "remembering him" setting that you created in the slower version. Two separate "mind-movies" from one talented artist!
