His revamp of Kingdom was spot on though. Would love a remixed and remastered version of this album and Synchestra. We also need some Devin Townsend choped n screwed. A couple of premieres on Ocean Machine would sound great with some new Dev mentality; Seventh Wave or Life.

This is said to be an album he loathes but when I heard it on it's release I actually started to feel happy for the first time in many years. I was actually teary on this track. Kingdom is one of my all time favourite tunes and I'm glad he re-embraced it.

It seems most people either don't know of or overlook Devlab, The Hummer and Project EKO, with EKO being more songish. Regardless of production, these are probably more of a challenge to listen to.

While Z1 is a masterpiece, Z2 is garbage

I would agree that Z2 is weak, but it's not bad by any length. Deathray, War Princess and Ziltoid goes home are fucking great. Even Ziltoidian Empire. Devin himself has said that Z2 was an album he really suffered to make, in terms of being forced out. However, Sky Blue, the accompanying disk, was more sincere. And Sky Blue is a masterpiece.

I would say Planet rain and Physicist are still better than his post-Deconstruction music. Maybe because it came out of a troubled psychotic frame of mind instead of a fulfilled father.

Clint Howard um Casualties of Cool was amazing... dude has more ideas going round his head than almost any other musician I've ever seen, just some of them can be poorly realised. I was slightly disappointed by Transcendence, I think he tried to write in his classic vein and it just came off lacklustre as I think his mind is more on the introspective stuff like Casualties, at least that's what he's said. Good record though. He said Transcendence is going to be the last DTP album and thus I don't think he will really be writing in that Epicloud-Transcendence style any more. He is currently writing 4 different albums. Definitely not out of good ideas

Great song (and album)! Devin has written tons of great stuff. Ocean Machine being my favorite. A total masterpiece.

The only reason he hates it is because of the mix. So people going "I hate the mix too!" are bores to me. Honestly, "Namaste" sounds perfect as is.

Most of the people hating on Physicist probably say they dislike it probably because it's Devin's least favorite. I really find it to be an important block in his discography. It's probably not his best work but it's very interesting to listen to it, especially after all these years.

This song, for me, anyway, is a reflection on what I learned from opening my heart to the last girl I fell in love with. I did everything wrong in a sense, as in letting it all happen too fast, and it all fell apart really fast. So my world is quiet now, it hasn’t ended (obviously), but it definitely came crashing down at the time, and has now since been WAY too quiet. It feels like nobody cares, so I tell myself over and over again “I’m sorry”. God I love that girl…..I’m hopeless lol.

Congratulations, I´m 27 and I discovered DT a few years ago with is Terria rehearsal, it struck me so hard that I thought I wouldn´t listen to something so special never again, until I started searching for his music... XD

Thats what I wanted to do with my music project but unfortunately the other band members didn't like the idea and thought it was best if I wasn't in the project. I'm just a vocalist with good ideas for music. Kinda sucks that I can't play any instruments besides the keyboard.Thats another thing. My mic, preamp and pa were stolen from the douche bag bassist that became the new vocalist. that shits expensive and would take me a while to regain so I've given up hope on starting new projects:-(

This song conjures up all the emotions you ever had and some you didn't know you had and explodes them all at once. In this case in ten minutes and seventeen seconds.

This song is only second to The Death of Music as not only my favorite Devin Townsend song, but the greatest song ever made. I've never heard a song like this with so much passion and force exerted into it, yet is pushed so beautifully into an almost godlike composition. It's cinematic, to an extent.
