Devil Wears Prada, The - War Lyrics
Will I ever forgive myself?
The same question, it's never fading.
I watch her wings eclipse the light of day.
It keeps coming back. Right now
I'm caught in the midst of no redemption.
I'm fighting the war rather than war itself.
The same dream over and over, over and over.
I thought I could be more
Than simply a victim.
I fight through sleepless nights
Without an answer. Somehow
I'm fighting the war rather than war itself.
I'm fighting the war rather than war itself.
Some say there's hope in this, there is love.
Show me her eyes, I'll feel her hair.
I'll be back to déjà vu. Over and over.
The same dream. The same question.
Will I ever forgive myself?
Will I ever forgive myself?
Will I ever forgive myself?
Will I ever forgive myself?

Será que eu vou perdoar a mim mesmo?

This has to be the most under appreciated album by TDWP, many people denigrate it for its different sound but it’s honestly one of my favorite albums of all time.
God bless TDWP
make another zombie ep
Memories My Haïfa..
Whos the guy with glasses screaming
Mike Hranica
searched for "de wae of de deval"
The first time I heard this song I was going through one of the worst times of my life with depression, I was about 16. I stopped listening to this song for a very long time because every time I heard it, it brought me back
Got to see this album performed live and really close in doors, it was awesome😃
*CADÊ OS BR QUE CURTE MÚSICA FODA NESSA PORRA!?*
I personally fell the albums before this were the best of the band
ZOMBIE EP MUSIC VIDEO! #escape
I love the ending so much.
it sounds like he hurt his voice here he cant hit his highs and sounds strained
I saw an interview where Mike said that was the sound he was going for in this album.
EMO!!!!!
Targeted Individuals nah not emo lol
not fucking emo
I used to work for the drummers father . met him a few times . during the holidays.
great song, corny ass music video.
This is one of my absolute favourites by them. Chills on the chorus.
can't like their stuff like zombie ep and WRAABB maybe a few songs after but idk just not the same. Nothing like HTML Rulez and big wiggly style
Como es que solo tiene 833.000 visualizaciones no logro entenderlo
Some of the best music and musicians I've heard in my 41 years of life!!!!Warning XXX!!!!!!
The end leaves me with chills
Both of you shut the fuck up!!!!😠
I don't get tired of this because this is not generic
818k views :)
I like their newer stuff much more. So atmospheric and emotional
It's because your a sissy la la.
you're*
Esteban Obregon yes well their older stuff was cringey come on you gotta admit
x _ x cringey? Nah man
Fuck this band, I'm tired of seeing ads for it on videos of actual good bands.
@Christian D hey nobody asked you to come and take a shot at anybody else first, you got what you asked for, kiddo. Suck it up, put on your big boy pants, you're gonna live, I promise.
@Joshua Jones I'm not angry. I am fine. I don't really get offended by anything. It was just a troll dude. You're the one making it a bigger deal then it is, and the fact that you stalked me on my profile (which hasn't been active in ages) is pretty messed up. And no, I didn't get what I asked for, you are just looking for places to be a complete jerk, you are the one who should suck it.
This dude probably has no friends.
Joshua Jones hahahaha I guarantee you listen to fucking dad metal. I'd love to hear what you consider to be 'good'. You've been making music for 25 years and you're an absolute nobody where as this band had been signed by the same label for over 10 years.... I don't think you have the 'credibility' to determine what's good or bad my dude
Holy shit, can anyone even be more pathetic than you are? If you're really 38 years old as you said in the earlier comment then you must have stopped growing up at about 11 or 12 years. If you don't like the music, fine, that's your taste and I can't change that. But let other people enjoy stuff, my god.
I don't know what you listen to or what you call "actual music", but what gives you the right to lift the music you listen to above music other people like? And what gives you the right to call yourself a "music expert"? In your 25 years of supposedly being a musician you didn't learn that people might have different tastes? Are you really that immature (both in actual and musical terms) that you feel the need to bash on everyone who likes music you don't like?
I must say man, I feel really sorry for you. I can't imagine you being a person people like to hang out with, so try to be nice to your pizza deliverer. Atleast someone might think of you nicely then.
That vape nation intro
Amo esta canción ♥
mike guitar?????????????????????
yep, hes played a little guitar since Dead Throne
he also plays guitar on their instrumental "kansas"
Kansas is in the dead throne album
+TheKelcun im aware of that. i was just stating he plays guitar on that track as well.
He also plays the last half of Asteroid
great vido
This song has true meaning we are always fighting a war among ourselves
yeah.. I have ptsd, this song is what it feels like. the emotion behind it is on point.
This song gives me the chills every time I listen to it.
love this song but for some reason this song makes me think it can be put in a horror movie lol idk why
The thought of inescapable fate can be chilling. Mike talks a bit about that in this song.
Good song but in my personal opinion, ditch the throat yelp screaming (at the end if you want a reference). It's the only bad thing about this bad to me, cos it's not really nice to listen to and doesn't really show emotion of hopelessness or whatever if that's what he's trying to do.
@Charlie bear I'm a grown man, I think I can handle the internet fine. Just makes no sense to say that someone's vocals are wrong and not say how to make them right.
@Blogging For Change Let's break this down for you then, why could I say what part of the vocals I don't specifically care for? Because they're here, we can hear them. Why can't I offer an alternative? Because text isn't audible. Granted I had the intent of them sticking to their normal technique is what I meant, but how is it my fault if I can't physically get you to hear what I'd prefer if all I'm saying is I don't care for a part, it's just my opinion.
I feel as though you're incredibly wrong. the way he screams expresses his real emotions and his passion. It's raw and real. I can feel the raw emotion when I listen to his screaming, especially through songs like this. he's screaming for a purpose and I can completely understand and feel this via his techniques or lack thereof.
+Charlie bear
I respect your opinion man but in my own opinion I gotta disagree.
I hear the hopelessness, this song right here explains my PTSD to the T. glad I decided to check up on TDWP. that emotion in his scream, same fucking emotion that goes through your head.
without those screams I feel like it wouldn't have the same effect nor feeling. I listen to songs to relate to them. not to listen to them because they just "sound nice".
too many good artists are under appreciated based on the preconcieved notion that a certain tone or pitch is socially outcasted. shits wack.
we need more emotion in music now more then ever.
What does he mean when he says "i'm fighting a war rather than war itself"?
+Hati Wolfheart It means fighting the act of war as a whole...like avoiding war, rather than be in a battle
Thank you! It does make sense! :D
id say it means fighting the demons of war, instead of fighting the war
Hati Wolfheart In my opinion I think he's talking about an internal war rather than actual war. He keeps referring to 'her' and being able to forgive himself so I think it's more of a battle within himself. That's what makes it such a beautiful and relatable song to me. That and the way you can actually feel the emotion in his voice. Gets me every time I hear it
My cunt is big.
+AxlFeed Fuck me.
+AxlFeed I love Putin!
Ummmmmm??? Awkward Lol
what tunis is this on ?
It's okay we'll live the wars of all. 7 fixt, winddamage caution-ed it
this clip makes me think of new divide
i don't see how it's similar...
Much respect to TDWP. The energy they had with Plagues & With Branches Above and Roots Below is still unmatched... for literary style and aggression..
damn Jeremy and Mike both continue to impress me with their vocals as the continue to perfect their style, it just gets better and better with each album
awesome song
The movie was better...
My first time hearing them
AWESOME
By far the best album they've done. Although im still partial to Still Fly and Reptar :D
Possibly one of the best performers that I've seen. And I've been to a good number of shows lol
1:13 "I farted a worm"
Tdwp (y)
mike is fuckin awesome!!! soo poetic and litterall at the same time. i love his lyrics. the fact he’s a badass vocalist just makes it better… u guys wanna hear a screaming cover of something? go to my channel and request something
Hey guys I just released a vocal cover of this song on my channel, if anyone could check it out it would mean the world :)
this would be ok if they werent christian totally fucks up the band
Clearly there is something wrong with you
I like their new stuff, I like the more raw sound in mikes voice. While I do like the really heavy stuff, I love this new sound. While there are some things I'm not loving on this album, I still think they are great musicians just trying to progress with their sound.
I haven't listened to TDWP since Zombie... Holy shit I regret it, this is incredible
La tela not siGaz
im not trying to draw people to my music but when i watch the video to mysong i was like wtf?! https://soundcloud.com/iseeall1/from-space-ruff
Personally I think they should have used Jeremy's voice more than just in the beginning.
I love the way Mike is screaming now.... it sounds so, emotional and real. Really nice to hear
Favorite TDWP song :D
Alexisonfire 2.0
+Mitchell D tienes razón :v
I'm sorry..I tried.. But metalcore, just no, I can't o_o
Weird video. Very Prada. I like.
They would never make a song together because of differences in their spiritual beliefs, but new Oli Sykes would sound great with new TDWP.
İ lost hope for this band when Jeremy left, but this is the shit and I'm bout it
Don't understand how people couldn't get into their new sound, one of the few bands that matured. After hearing 8:18 I feel as if they found the sound that fit them best. Always been a fan and will continue being a fan. All I have to say is I thank TDWP for their contribution in the music industry and keeping it alive👏
I just hate this album they dont sound the same as the previous albums i think they could of done a lot better with this album BIG disappointment
Whack opinion, this album was more artistic and atmospherical than their earlier stuff. They don’t have to do “better” by your standards, they put out what they want to write.
Mikes glasses tho
This song is so wonderful big fan love all your albums individually and love hearing the band grow
He has an amazing voice, wish they had more softer songs. If you know of any, please list them for me! :D
I use to hang out and skate with these guys b4 they got big and popular at a place called 180 skate park in ohio
It's been years since I've listened to them glad to see they're still making music
y'all motherfuckers are crazy tdwp aint generic
I don't get it what's up with the bats
Mike got his tooth fixed :( i thought he said he would never get it fixed haha. Oh well...
This is my favorite song out of the entire album. Ive listened to this song multiple times and I get chills every time because I hear the passion. This is a perfect example on how metal music can be just as passionate as any genre. Not just that, it's relates a lot in my life. Does anyone else agree?
I've been a fan since modeify the pronunciation. This song is great.
This isn't the devil wears Prada... They have changed way too much they sound like rise records bullshit
Dude they are literally the reason why Rise is so big and why Joey Sturgis has a job
beautiful song
I miss the old devil wears prada not their music that still sounds pretty similar but the way they all used to look the years have made them all look pretty different except mike hes pretty close to looking like the old him
I know I'm in the minority here, but I really prefer their old stuff compared to 8:18. I really love this band, but this new music just does not compare to even say dead throne. Like, the new direction of this record wasn't bad or terrible, I just feel I'd listen to a different band if I wanted something like this.
I've been listening to TDWP since Dear Love. Every album since Plagues has taken some time for me to get used to, but in the end I've come to realize that they just keep getting better and better. Even when When Roots Above and Branches Below came out I was skeptical. But like I said, it just took me a little time to hear what they were trying to do and the image they were trying to portray before I could understand that they are maturing and putting out great music in each album. I agree that TDWP is nothing like it was back in 2006, and thank god for that! I LOVE Plagues, but I'm happy that they haven't bee trying to recreate that success every time they put a new song out, because then I never would have been able to hear great songs like "Mammoth," "Wapakalypse," 8:18," "Martyrs," and "War". In all honesty, I don't listen to much hardcore music anymore. But I'm ALWAYS watching and waiting for great bands like ABR, BMTH, ADTR, and TDWP to come out with new material.
I'm really looking forward to their new album. I have no doubt in my mind that it will be fucking sick. TDWP fan forever! Keep making great music, guys.
hell yeah
this song is so amazing live. the lights go out at the end except for a spotlight on mike screaming "Will I ever forgive myself?"
Mind blowing.
Personally from the 8:18 album I love Rumors and Transgress but they've never played those songs live 😢
woah the legends are back :)
THE SAME DREAM!
i really like these clean lyrics
the passion in those screams oh my
Pretty good! A lot of improvement.
I've been a fan since Plagues, I still love these guys, they have definitely changed, but in a matter of my own opinion, they really do sound more mature and their music sounds a lot more darker, which I don't really mind at all (:
The ending to this song gives me chills
"WILL I EVER FORGIVE MYSELF"
Sounds...raw.
This is just wowowowowowowowowowowow
Who has two thumbs and is going to the devil wears prada in Houston tx on martch 29 this guy
his voice is just annoying sounds more like screaming this is the stereotype of metal
TDWP Always better than before
I love how TDWP can incorporate structure into their songs all while staying true to themselves...if that makes sense?
