Denver, John - 60-Second Song For A Bank - "May We Help You Today?" Lyrics

Oh, I love the changing seasons. Green and growing all around.
Smiling faces, laughing children, making such a joyful sound.
In my dreams, I see tomorrow, time and children of my own.
Someone who will stand beside me, helping me to make ourselves a home.
If your eyes can see tomorrow, though it might seem far away.
If you have some dreams to build on, may we help you today?

Was this actually written for a commercial? What's the story behind this?

    D.... R....

He talks about it in his live album "Live in LA 1971 (The Troubadour, West Hollywood, 1 Sep 1971) [Remastered]" in his intro to the 60 second bank song with the bank's reaction at the end of the actual song. The album is on Spotify, I'd tell you the story but it's so much better to listen to it for yourself!

yes. Twin Cities bank. 1960's. I remember the jingle from my childhood. I loved it. A few years later I became a huge John Denver fan and then found out he wrote the bank jingle. I think it was Northwestern Bank. Their slogan was, "May we help you today" which was the last line of the jingle.

Always loved this 60 second ‘jingle’, wish John had turned it into a full song!
