I've bought the whole stuff concerning Sandy....Constantly I'm discovering jewels here and there. This morning I re-discovered "After Halloween", a demo recorded at the Manor, Oxfordshire. She was a great artist.....a complete artist. We miss her....but we still continue to listen to her beautiful songs...Sing Sandy, sing for our enjoyment...( I'm french and I'm proud to listen to this version )

I'm french second language( ie english) and my wife is french (acadienne) and both of us have no problem in understanding the words ot this song..

@tobestill Thank you for posting that. I strongly suggest everybody who doesn't actually know French at least put these lyrics through Babelfish. There are levels of meaning and poetry that come out in the literal translation that, in some way, are deeper than the original English lyrics. It makes me wonder if Sandy actually wrote it in French to start with.

It's interesting, but somehow, hearing it in French, especially the extra ornaments and the way the different language somehow brings out more of a raspy quality in Sandy's voice, makes her singing sound, of all things, more Sephardic/Arabic in some way. Fascinating.

Better than the English version. Not sure why, but it is.
