Delbert McClinton - Hey! Baby Lyrics
Hey, hey baby
I wanna know if you'll be my girl
Hey, hey baby
I wanna know if you'll be my girl
I said, "That's the kind of girl I'd like to meet
She's so pretty, Lord, she's fine
I'm gonna make her mine, all mine"
Hey, hey baby
I wanna know if you'll be my girl
When you turn and walk away
That's when I wanna say
Come on, baby, give me a whirl
Hey, hey baby
I wanna know if you'll be my girl
When you turn and walk away
That's when I wanna say
Come on, baby, give me a whirl
I wanna know if you'll be my girl
Hey, hey baby
I wanna know if you'll be my girl
Hey, hey baby
I wanna know if you'll be my girl

Delbert McClinton Hey! Baby Comments
Del McLintons "Definitive Collection C.D. cut of "Hey Baby" does it right.....Live is live..
It is interesting that so many high school and college marching bands have included "Hey Baby" as a part of their repertoire.
What a wonderful upload; so nice to see these two old-timers looking and sounding so good on stage. I miss the days when girls loved it when you wolf-whistled them.
This song is a very important song in pop history. It inspired John Winston Lennon to write songs. Please please Me, Love me do, Little Child and others from this one song which in its time was so catchy.
HEY BILL CAMPBELL !!
Saw Bruce in 1962, but a great thrill for us was seeing Delbert at an outdoor venue at Skullbone in West Tennessee. Delbert played the harmonica for Bruce on "Hey! Baby in 1962. Another favorite of mine by Delbert is "Giving It Up For Your Love ".
Fuckin awesome
"Bekka Bramlett"? Daughter of Bonnie Bramlett?
Linne Perry
Yes. She's a very much in demand session/touring vocalist based in Nashville. Most of the people she supports she could blow off the stage and back on to the Silver Eagle. Delbert McClinton is NOT one of them. She's a great musician, too. A real sweetheart, but nobody's fool.
high school senior when i heard dis, '62
Remember this-the Beatles opened for them. Check it out. Tx boys got it goin'- then and now
Thanks for uploading. This is a classic. The vocals, harmonica and guitar sound great.
As Craig Ferguson would say, Delbert is a master of the mouth organ!
This was the first single I ever bought, with money saved from my paper route.
over 50 years later still in original key he looks and still sounds great
In newzealand this song is the staple song in every rugby club if you love the all blacks and know who they are thyv sung this song no doubt about it awesum performance
My cousin showed me how to play this song when I was 8 years old. I had know idea that the same producer would also produce me, and Bruce would become a friend and hero of mine. Love you Bruce.
I loved this tune when I first heard it and love it just as much today. Thank you,
Mr. Channel!!!!!
I saw Bruce Channel do this in 1962. I had been to the Mardi Glas in New Orleans and had returned with a pint of Early Times whiskey. I was 16 years old and bought the bottle in a Walgreens drug store. Took it to the Rock n' Roll show and drank it with a friend or two. Got quite drunk and had a wonderful time.
+Terry Thurman Cute, only in NO..............good memories.
moi aussi, my brother
Walgreens sold liquor that you could buy at 16..sounds like good times lol
I remember this song even though I was a little girl. I've been a big fan of Delbert's for four decades now!
IT IS NICE TO REMEMBER LIFE AND MUSIC.
WOW IM IMPRESS!
Thanks, I am 19 and dancing in a west Texas beer joint.....great memory
Looks like this was on one of the cruises Delbert puts on each January...
