I love this rendition of Texas R & B Artist, Delbert McClinton recorded back in the 1990's. I was taking the R & R chart magazine to music industry offices on Music Row then. Curb Records was one of my stops and they handed me a complimentary newly released CD of this album. This was a nice perk of beating the pavement with my car and feet literally for 4 1/2 years on Thursdays. You'd think I was born in Memphis or Chicago, because I love blues and R & B! Enjoy!

Saw him several times decades ago, or so it seems.  Just awesome!   He really gives it all.  He used to play in Jackson, MS in smaller venues.  Great times, great music.

Saw Delbert at the Botanical Gardens in Silverton, Oregon. I can honestly say I have never been blown away by a performance as I was that night. It was the most entertaining show I've ever seen or heard. He and his band were on FIRE! The piano player was awesome. I will NEVER forget that concert.

would you rather gigantic fame, or be one of the guys that people with gigantic fame would trade everything to be you? Im sure there were times when delbert would have taken the fame and truckloads of money, but in the end i would rather be idolized/loved/admired and whatever else, by other players

Delbert is one of the greats....up there with Otis and yet in the UK few have heard of him...such a pity. With his voice he should be recognised, worldwide, as one of the finest vocalists in the business. He's phenomenal and will sadly probably have to die before the UK or Europe take notice.
