What Delain is demonising within the medicine world is the lack of humanity. The fact that we are seen as sheep with money instead of wool. That doctors would rather give you a pill than actually care and help you find the root cause. I spent most of my teen years being a guinea pig for shrinks because they listened to my family instead of me. Now I am 26. I'll never have a normal hormonal balance. I have constant issues with my weight because of the medication roulette as a teen. Yes medicine is necessary for many but we need humanity in care again. We need humanity everywhere. Can't expect someone to work 40 hours a week, barely make ends meet, eat junk food that is the only thing truly affordable, and not have some kind of problem or six from stress and such.

The last time I saw Delain live, they were headlining for Hammerfall. Delain came out on stage with Hammerfall and they did a song together. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my life.

Nothing against the song here, but the images at 2:13 are of cooling towers. They put out water vapor, essentially clouds. There is nothing harmful coming out of those. Showing those with black smoke coming out of the top is just wrong. They are used to cool water down and in the process put out clouds, nothing else.

As a person who fights bipolar daily, this song has so much meaning. My doctors over the years have been like, "Oh, well, that didn't work? Okay, cold turkey stop the pill you're maxed out on, since it doesn't work, and let's put you on this instead." Every month. For four years. We never found one combination that worked. I noticed, with my newest doctor, the pills kept getting more and more expensive. Why? She was getting kickbacks from drug reps for prescribing certain pills. Yes, my body is an industry. Because someone makes a crapton of money off my illness.

As someone who couldn't live without painkillers due to actual injuries, I have mixed thoughts about this. Some people don't know shit about heart disease and pain, they just flap their ignorant mouths thinking that if they're healthy so is everyone else. You have NO FUCKING IDEA how lucky your are to be healthy, therefore shut your ignorant mouth and enjoy it while it lasts.

Jasper Störningar and there are a lot of people on pills that don't need them. To put it this way not ever kid has ADHD but sense mom and dad don't want to do there job they drug the kid. Meanwhile people who do need it are thrown to the wolves.

I love this song, especially since it kind of talks against big drug companies wether legal (Xanax, ADHD meds, Valium)or illegal (heroin, crack, meth) . If it's just to feel the same or to feel numb then I don't think anyone can go anywhere like that (getting rid of your mental disease, improving your mental state, getting an altered state of consciousness, altered perception of things around you, different state of mind, different perspective) . Unless you don't abuse your meds and your life turn around and you eventually no longer need them then I would say it's a good thing. If not try more natural methods and slowly taper off of it. And only take a substance if there's researched made and its proven to help your condition (mental, physical) if so I would say to my state "fuck your laws" #420

+CB Salar there are people that with out medicated well die. Type 1 diabetes will die with out medicated. So you can say F big pharma all you want. With out them there would be no medicated for people with type 1 diabetes.

I know many people that had cured themselves of type 1 diabetes. Big pharma will never cure anything. Yes there are some people that need certain meds, but big pharma are mostly legal drug pushers. Nutrition cures not poison pills.

People with type 1 can not be cure or get ready of it. There is no CURE for type 1 diabetes.

To me, the song has a double meaning. Yes, we have become a highly over medicated society, but there are the "lucky" ones like me that have no choice but to be medicated for life. I was born with a rare enzyme deficiency that causes all kinds of issues. To me, the lyrics are also symbolic of the general frustrations that I, and many of my friends that I've met who also suffer from the same condition, go through day after day, when sometimes even the smallest task feels like an attempt at climbing Mt. Everest, and you have no choice but to rely on medication and deal with the side effects in order to function at the most basic level. This condition causes chronic pain, anxiety, severe panic attacks, depression, a number of unpleasant cosmetic symptoms, racing heartbeat, high blood pressure, fatigue, and a severely altered perception of one's self (my reflection, pictures of myself and even recordings of my voice are DRASTICALLY different than the way other's view me). Certainly not looking for sympathy (what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and I'm made of titanium at this point), but there are those of us who have to pop those little pills everyday that really don't have a choice. Kind of makes you feel trapped in your body. Glad this song exists. Certainly helps to have people that don't understand listen to it and read the lyrics, a sort of "welcome to my world" moment.

@Bawnawgwa the life-saving meds that they charge ridiculous amounts of money for is insane! Most people cannot afford them! Therefore the poor die and the rich live! Is this Fair? And like you said it's all about big Pharma getting rich!!! They don't care one damn thing about your life! That makes me sick! I am one of those people who cannot afford to buy my potentially life-saving lupus medication every month! When I was first prescribed it it cost $6 a month, and now it's a hundred and fifty a month and I take a lot of other medications to, so to sum all this up WTF!!!

Hey guys. There is a documentary out there called "SICKO" it's done buy a man who does a lot of documentaries and is famous for them but I cannot remember who. It's very interesting and very eye-opening regarding big Pharma. Did you know that prisoners and terrorists in Guantanamo Bay get better Medical Care than we do? I didn't know that until I watched it. This takes place in America for all of you who are not from here. It talks about how the medication system in Canada is much better as far as medications being much cheaper. It's all about big Pharma. For all who are interested I'm sure you can find it online somewhere. It's been out probably around 10 years by now. It's very eye-opening.

@lizzy Q Dear Lizzy, please, make a search about Thetahealing by Vianna Stibal. If you are opened to it, I believe you can achieve the cure of your diseases e disorders. You can become a practitioner or you can make a session with a thetahealer. My mother cured herself of fibromyalgia. She used to take lots of medication and never really was pain free, but now she is cured. I hope this knowledge can set you free. I became a practitioner myself last month. If you become a practitioner, you'll learn how to use your own self-healing power. I highly recommend this technique. You can make a online session, so don't be sad if you don't find any practitioners at your city. Wish you the best. :)

+solocongliocchi If anything "having suffered" is what allows me to relate to this song. Being a chronic pain patient, I was put on one pill after another each with their very own side-effects. After my 3rd surgery I had to take about 9 pills and an injection daily, it took my body months to restore from the side-effects, which was the first time I realised the toll medicine took on my body. As a kid I was put on medication before alternative options such as physical therapy or rehabilitation were even considered, it was a normal as brushing my teeth.


I still need pain medication, just like my parents need their insulin, but I doubt that's what the song is aimed at. I think it's more parents putting their little kids on prozac or pop a pill for any minor inconvenience before looking into other solutions.

Charlotte(the singer) had a an infection on her lung and she was taking pills to restore the situation.And secondly,the song has not to do with sicknesses which need special medication,but about drugs and the fact that every society has problems with that and also the songwriter thinks that the food factories try to help this situation creating food,which contain medicines that sometimes are poisonous about the person.

I also have ADD when I was younger they put me on medication and my teacher at the time told my parents I need to stop taking it because I looks really sad like I was not even me. I came off it and was just fine and I got by with out it. Not ever one who has depression or anxiety or ADHD, etc need medication. It works for some and not others. That's the point of the song.

In Franklin County, Maine, there's been so much addiction that doctors are scared to give out meds.  I just take lots of aspirin and drink a lot.  One's a pain killer and the other is a muscle relaxant.  Probably both will kill my liver some day but so will narcotics and my route is cheaper and doesn't cost the govt. a penny.  In fact, I pay a bottle deposit and tax, too.  I don't want the drug industry's crap

Great song, but the best part is the transition on 1:56, that change of style is unexpected yet fantastic...

I think the song is actually really good but the guitars and drums could sound a lot less digital. The best bit is the chorus which blends quite well but the intro/verses sound like two songs put together if you know what I mean. Would have put more top end on her vox as well. She has a wonderful voice!

Ok guys and gals, I went to the show on April 13 in Quebec. This concert exceeded my expectation by 1000% yes 1000%. Delain opened and was great, Sabaton was excellent, and of course Nightwish gave a show that was the greatest I had ever seen. If you dont see this tour, you have missed out on the best show of all time. Good sound, good audience, great venue. The meet and greet was fantastic also. The band members were fun to talk to and very accommodating. Dont miss this tour. If  you do you will forever kick yourself for missing it.

I agree with the song but i don't like the misconception in chemistry because . I want to became soapmaker with natural ingredient and truly good thing for body and in france i need to study chemistry . I agree because you have to know what you're doing , infact , you need to really know chemistry to make green chemistry and if evryone studied bio-chemistry maybe they're won't be such problem . Anti Depressants are over abused. Its true, and many other medications are abused, such as oxy. Vaccinations are good, but the mental health medications can be more detrimental than the diseases themselves. After what anti depressants, and anti anxiety medication has done to me, I refuse to ever take them again. They might help some people, but for others end up nearly killing them. I love this song. 

This is going to sound like it's out of left field, but...... I am interested in starting a petition to have Charlotte play the character of Teela in the upcoming DC comics production of a new Masters of the Universe movie. Or at least have the role offered to her. I was having a discussion on who should play who, and Teela was the hardest, when it dawned on me that a fiesty warrior like red head was on my music playlist. I know it's a curve ball, but I think she would be wonderful. Thumbs up if I should dedicate a poll page for it for Delain fans. Hope some 80's kids agree with me.

Love the lyrics. All those people only interpreting it as her demonising the medicine industry is rather unnuanced. The unnecessary prescriptions of antibiotics leading to resistance, antidepressants that more often than not prove to be ineffective for people, addiction to painkillers. Medicine has its bad side and addressing that does not belittle your positive experiences with drugs.

I will be seeing Delain open for Nightwish on April 13, 2015 at Le Capitol in Quebec City. I am excited to see both of these bands. I can only hope that it will be better sonically than the concert I saw on Oct. 11, 2014 with Amaranthe and Within Temptation at the Palladium in Worcester, Mass. The sound was muddy and garbled. I dont know if it was the venue or the sound crew but it was awful.

I am so unbelievably jealous right now haha. I'm sat waiting for Nightwish to announce uk dates :') have a good one!

It's Marco....he's been a guest vocalist on nearly(if not all) of their albums. Great idea whoever came up with it...heard them on a Nightwish station on Pandora and immediately fell in love with them!

To me this song is about chemical dependency and how people are told they need these drugs which they became addicted to and all it does is create another element for their body to battle. They often just numb the pain and aren't taken to cure the problem. I've saw it first hand in my family and I consider these legal addictions to have far worse side effects than more than a few drugs that are deemed illegal. Our drugs laws are jaded and chemicals like the ones Delain are talking about are allowed because others are able to profit from the pain.

@prelude2pain From first hand experience the side effects for 'safe' drugs suck. I was taking one for depression, and it caused to me laugh / cackle like the Joker (Not Heath), a serious neurological side effect.
