Del Shannon - You Never Talked About Me Lyrics
I went down to the railroad station, honey
I overheard a conversation, honey
Yeah you we're talkin' to a guy named Jim
And the things that you we're tellin' him
Tears filled my eyes, I couldn't see
'Cause you never talked about me, honey, about me, honey
You talked about your past and future, honey
About the kind of man you thought would suit you, honey
And you told him what a man should do
If he wants to be love by you
You talked and talked so endlessly
Tears filled my eyes, I couldn't see
You told me there would be
Anyone else for you
You swore your love was true
How could you do this to me
Makin' me cry like that
My heart could die like that
The stars come out by the railroad station, honey
You carried on your conversation, honey
And then he kissed you and I heard you sigh
It was time for me to say goodbye
You kissed and kissed so endlessly
Tears filled my eyes, I couldn't see
'Cause you never talked about me, honey
About me, honey

Del Shannon You Never Talked About Me Comments
Nothing special about this tune aside from a Del Shannon performance. Would have been a throw away by anybody else.
It is from "It's Trad, Dad". I saw it when it came out.
Idk who wrote that description but it's dumb.
great clip from ''It's Trad Dad'' with Helen Shapiro and Craig Douglas, I adore Del's version of ''I Wake Up Crying'' all the purist will cry Chuck Jackson's is the penultimate version but Del just makes the song his way, what an underrated overlooked songwriter producer and singer this man is, total respect for this gentle guy R.I.P Del, a lifetime of great songs, from Bruce Springsteen to Steve Marriott, the guy influenced a lotta singers and bands and he also had an album produced by Andrew Loog Oldham who loved Del's version of The Stones ''Under My Thumb'' what a giant amongst his peers.
Del's version is excellent. Which is the ultimate version if Chuck Jackson's is the penultimate?
The quality of this video is fantastic!
Del's music will live forever.
brickclimber only one DS unforgetable
He was one of the best rock´rollers!
great song great man what more can you say
RIP DEL SHANNON
Del said in an interview that the lights were very hot. His part was filmed in the USA as were most of the American acts. The film story was directed by Richard Lester who later went on to direct The Beatles "Help" movie.
Thanks for putting up the whole clip again.
