How can a song be so powerful and so oddly soothing. The first 2 minutes are like muscle cars bursting trees along a country road then 2:25 hits and I'm like relaxed and I calm down just to speed up again for that last chorus.

You can also make music that will stand the test of time, music with depth like the sea. This song is one of them.

Once dated a girl named Minerva in highschool, she didn't like her name because it sounded kinda weird but I told her that it was something beautiful and showed her this song, she liked it like I have, she was pretty, cool and one of the best partners I could ever have but many didn't see her that way, you see, she was the product of incest, her father and mother are brother and sister and almost everyone in our town knew that, she was bullied for it for year's, I kept telling her that it wasn't her or her parents fault, her parents were not bad parents either, they just had a harsh history with growing up, in short all they had was each other, Minerva was just as normal as everyone else, her personality and her herself was everything to me, at the end of our highschool day's someone had pushed her too far to the point of suicide.... To this day I have a very hard time listening to this song without crying.

deftones has a religious/spiritual quality to some of their songs

From the time I seen this video back in the Day the first thing that came to mind is pink Floyd's "Echoes" video in the Colosseum

I thought it was just me that noticed that with both videos they have a similar quality with the Equipment set up of the speakers & the lighting even down to the cinematography is similar too

@poison dart yeah, one of my friends had the whole session on dvd. shit... it might have been video tape for the vcr. like i said. long time since i've watched or listened to that. always was one of my favorites from PF. saw them once back in the 90's at the VET stadium in Philly.

Sounds like an older Smashing Pumpkins song, perhaps from the Pisces Iscariot days. Chino (the lead singer from Deftones) does not sound like Billy Corgan, but the sound of the song does.

Deftones song called sextape is extremely smashing pumpkins-like. Infact, chino recently joined smashing pumpkins on stage.

Been listening to the soothing sound of The Deftones since 95. I have wonderful memories and a few terrible ones set against their soundtrack. Wouldn't trade the world for any of them.

Everything great, beautiful, and of power that currently exists in this world originated from the spirit and not the mind.

The Goal: Help spread love, kindness, hope, and compassion in the world. The world needs you to be the best and happiest you that you can be. By first healing yourself you are making the world a better place. This world has become a very dark and twisted place. By healing spiritually you will be able to have access to a new and deeper source of life within yourself that will allow you to be a kinder more compassionate person. You will be amazed how deeply satisfying it is to show greater love and kindness to others.

I feel like this is the sound that Linkin Park wanted to achieve when they were making those god awful Transformers songs.
