I'm a long time Deftones fan and never really gave much importance to the self-titled album.
And I hate myself for that, because this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

The girls on this video are so hot

Freakin fresh into school (freshman) when I heard this album. I realized right now why I would hear this album, and the songs in it. a time of nothing but study, mixed feelings of all people around me, the dissidence of being in my previous school, wanting to say things i could not bring about to say to hold a sense of honor in holding a responsibility to go out day in and day out with dignity, regardless how much i was criticized or how socially awkward i was. Sometimes I felt I had to lie to myself in hearing this album to feel slightly elevated over the crappy times I faced in that year. Yet I realize now it had a positive outcome on me, that really the issues others felt they could not suppress were an attempt to make themselves matter, in a way they could not make me forget it, to scar that pain in their own guilty conscience and know their misery would be that "moment" of anger, and thereafter get a sense of "moving on" with their lives as if nothing was wrong. All these songs help me to never forget what a &*^% my life was and how I should never forget it to appreciate the little things, alot more.

I was so excited to get this album. I was 14, and was supposed to get a copy for my gf too. I ended up buying it for myself and spending the rest on pot. She was a jerk anyway. I was definitely not disappointed once I pressed play. Some really great tunes on here. I'm happier this way.
