Def Leppard - No Matter What Lyrics

Thing is; this remake of the song by Pete Hamm did it justice in a big way. If you're going to cover another Band's song, it's got to be perfect. I heard a remake of Comfortably Numb by I can't remember who but they Butchered it to the point that I hope I never hear it again.

I'm not a huge Def Leppard fan, but I always loved this song and if there ever was a song for them to cover, this is it, it's right in their wheel-house.

To be honest you Guy's made it sound better!Loved it do some more oh yeah!!!!!

Not knocking the song (It's great!) or the band (They're great!) or Phil Collen (He's great!), but at about 1:15 in the video, it closes in on the headstock of Phil's Jackson guitar and it appears that he (we'll assume that it's Phil's hand) is turning the tuning peg, presumably tuning the guitar. The shot also shows that the Jackson has a locking nut, so turning the tuner will not do anything except maybe break the string above the nut. Why? Probably directed to do so for the shot by the music video director. Unless he was changing the strings, I guess.

Also, I played this version for my husband and he was adamant (I just realized that is Adam Ant altogether - my apologies, I digress) that it was The Beatles. But, or course, my husband doesn't have the ability to think outside the box. Even when I showed him my "YEAH"! CD, he wasn't convinced.

Badfinger was a very talented band on The Beatles Apple Label. Even so, they seemed to have a dark cloud hanging over their collective heads. I'm very happy that Def Leppard chose this upbeat fund of theirs to cover on "YEAH" ! I hope the surviving members are pleased. As a band, they were basically taken extreme advantage of to the point where, if memory serves, two band members committed suicide. It was very tragic. I hope that the people who took advantage of them received heavy doses of karma. I don't know how people like that can look at themselves in a mirror.
Thank you to Def Leppard for doing such a spot on tribute to them!

Not Now actually The Beatles influenced Badfinger. Paul McCartney gave them their first hit Come And Get It, and The Beatles called Badfinger “the next Beatles” unfortunately they didn’t have that kind of success. It’s really quite a sad story.

FTW, I wont go into the truly horrid backstory on this one past that it is a McCarthy song that Sir Paul decided to record himself for inclusion on the Hollywood Vampires album (Basically a VERY interesting version of a touring tribute/bar band dedicated to dead rock stars that put out an album of songs by people that are no longer there to sing them and Paul McCartney decided that he wanted in on the project and chose this song as his tribute and contribution to the album...)

It's not a McCartney song. You're thinking of Come and Get It which Badfinger recorded for the Magic Christian soundtrack.

Nothing wrong with Badfinger or Macca.

Jellyfish did a better cover of this though, it's live and has more energy.
