Deep Purple - The Gypsy Lyrics
Tell me gypsy can you see me
In your crystal ball
I'm asking you what can I do
My back's against the wall
And I can't hold on much longer
For now my life seems at an end
I came to see you once before
One hundred years ago
You took my hand and broke the spell
That should have let me go
But my years have gone so slowly
So I'm here again my friend
For now my life is at an end

Deep Purple The Gypsy Comments
this still blows me away, The start of RainBow
Excellent track. For me this and the title track were the best on the album. The "funky" stuff wasn't my cup of tea (each to their own as they say). You can definitely tell Coverdale and Hughes are putting their stamp on the album, and you do end up with a different sound. Burn was better though imo.
The great song
It has more anticipating riffs than smoke on water's.
good niko tarantella xersonisos
Get in my deep soul
Gypsy, one of most beatiful Deep Purple´s songs.

This is a must album to add to collection
Excelente músicos espectacular

The best
Overrated! Another struggle with the vocals. No need to lose my time with that stuff. Such a Pity for lord, blackmore and paice.
Ritchie shines on this one!
Wow David Coverdale:; my fav vocalist David n Ian Gillian..
Nothin' better in this world than a Highend - equipment a n d an outstanding music from a Highend - band ! O:-)
UH' Gypsy ,Bsabbath's Gypsy...n here's Purple's .Led Zepp has none....Coverdale was auditioned by UH before her joined Purple.
1974 !!!
Rockkkkkkkkkkkkk
Realy a very underrated Purple album, but if anybody takes a closer look, there is not a single weak song, and there are genious hits like this one (Gipsy), and Soldier of Fortune, and the other songs are very good, too!!
And look at the musicians!!
Like a supergroup!!! 🤗👍✌️

Now that I heard this one, gonna detox playing Rat Bat Blue

Better than Burn, but NOT at the same level of the first six albums...absolutely very far from them !!!
David and hughes the best duo vocals in rock ..

Ian Paice"s fills at the end, every new drummer should play along to this" "I did" a perfect lesson in time keeping"

Música que não fica velha.
The title track is by far the best song
The slide guitar part is divine!
Deep Purple so com david covardeil
God , loved this song from high school days, the whole album was AWESOME 👍

A great music
Stormbringer for as turbulent as the creation of it was is an under rated record for sure. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near their best, but it's one of my personal favorites.
Oh fuck you !!!! So much song!
man to be 16 again..my childhood on vinyl...
ian gillan or david coverdale doesnt matter DEEP PURPLE RULES
Love " The surprising" long live Deep Purple!

Boa viagem
Best song on this album !!
there's a three way tie in my heart for my favorite deep purple album machine head strormbringer and fireball
What about In Rock, Burn, Perfect Strangers and The House of Blue Light ??
baldarati loko my favorite Deep Purple album is either Perfect Strangers or House Of Blue Light, it depends on the day of the week I guess 😂.
Not sure why Ritchie did not like this Deep Purple album when his playing is soooo superb throughout!
@jp codnia Not arguing, but I wish every album could "suck" like this one.
Ritchie was already working on going heavier sound. Rainbow was in his eyesight.....true artist....
Milos Dunjic Because at this time Blackmore was amazing even when he wasn’t trying.
@jp codnia ,....ok, maybe him; but not us, the true lovers of DP! - ok, it's not a full hardrock one, but the melodic tunes are arranged finely! LOVE IT ! NEVER WANNA MISS IT ! :-)
He doesn't like it? Lol, is he serious
This song belongs in a Rainbow album
Love it my fav of purple.
Hard......so im here my friends
Ronni james far yup....MR JIELLNN CREATS OF CREATESTS
the best track on stormbringer. needs another verse tho imo
I agree...best track !
When I first heard the album I was around thirteen, already knew about some other classic Purple albums and had become a major fan of the band. This song sounded a bit half-done to me at the time, a slow riff that's repeated steadily and never seems to go anywhere, and plaintive lyrics which didn't do anything for me. Now I can hear it is a really well crafted song, lovely guitar playing and drumming and a nice harmony of voices, but it's a song you need to grow into with a bit of age.
É isso que eu falo. Lendas vivas do Rock
Pena que um dia morrerão Grande Gilnei...
