One of my favorite Deep Purple songs. I listen to this song to get pumped. I use to work a full time mechanic job at our local glass factory. “it closed 3 years ago. I ran a Drain Cleaning business and was Worshipful Master of my local Masons lodge. I used to listen to this song to keep me pumped and going.

Ian Paice is such a beast. He plays a million miles an hour on the title track, and then really mixes it up on the next track with some really interesting playing....

Coverdales young voice was really bluesy (would only be about 24). Burn was a classic album.

I used to love David Coverdale since I was 16 years old, That was in 1981, I loved that album Come and get it ( cracking stuff!!!) my parents nearly killed me over spending so much time in my room. I think I must have drove them nuts!!!

Wow, this hits yer right where you live. Who'd've thought they'd do BETTER without Gillan 'n Glover?!
The ability to knock out gems like this one is what elevates DP above AOR bands like Zep, Sabbath, Floyd, etc. Purple get in that soulful rock funk groove which I can RELATE to. They're more like Family or Free, with that joyful content condensed into 3 or4 life-affirming minutes. Of course, singles weren't hip if you were heavy in the 70's, and they sneered at Purps for making them - but Purple were the BEST, which it's now plain for all to see!

This is the song I heard on a transistor radio in my bed on a 6th grade school night, supposed to be sleeping, that blew my young mind and lead me away from pop music and into the world of hard rock...my parents were so pleased.

I was 12 years old and stole this album From Sunshine Records in the Janss Mall there in Thousand Oaks, CA 1974. Burn is my favorite Deep Purple album. (Its true- there are so many great DP songs-I Like them all) There's something about this album that sends me every time I hear it!!

Antonio Dias 'who do we think we are!' was made after this album.

@Brianna 187 who do we think...was the last DP album with the Gillan Glover lineup early 1973. They went through illness after touring extensively and had disagreements with Blackmore. Within 6 months that same year, Coverdale and Hughes were recruited. They were just 22 but DP felt they were alright for the band. Too bad it only lasted one year as the lineup proved sloppy with the release of Stormbringer
Burn is a fantastic album, but the following one made Blackmore say fuck it and left the band to start anew with 🌈 rainbow

i love this album...especially this song, burn, and lay down, stay down. once saw a cover band in bangkok, thailand, at the old metal zone on wireless road, do every song from this album and you would swear it was deep purple. band was called tornado...a thai metal band. thanks for putting up the songs from this album. and they sound great on my computer!

That cover band for sure sounds way better than today`s Deep Purple (Gillan cover band).
