Deep Purple - House Of Pain Lyrics

Have you ever had a woman that could make you crazy
Have you ever had a woman that could drive you mad
Have you ever had a woman give you so much trouble
And the best lovin' you ever had

My friends all say I'm losing it big time
But I know where I've got to go
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
Back to the house of pain

Have you ever had a rock that just keeps on rollin'
Have you ever seen a train comin' down the track
Have you ever jumped into the cold, cold never
And know there's no turning back

My friends all say I'm crazy, baby
But I know where I've got to go
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
I'm going home
Back to the house of pain

Have you ever had a weight that was much too heavy
Have you ever had a burden that was yours alone
Have you ever spent a night when you keep on waiting
Staring at the telephone

My friends all say I'm crazy, baby
But I know where I've got to go
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
I'm going back to my woman
Back to the house of pain
Then I run away

You'll always be my inspiration
I love you from afar

The short guitar solo part after the keyboard solo is one of the best parts in music I have ever heard. And I'm not exaggerating.

In Rock has the best album cover ever made and this album has for sure the worst album cover ever made in history

Haha, true! But the songs themselfs are some of the best from the Steve Morse-era. This is coming from a hardcore Richie fan, allthough 'Vincent Price' from their second last album, and 'Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming' from that one from the mid 90s stands out as well. Their new album was good too.

According to the two dudes on the album cover, nope.

what you have to say about Purpendicular cover?

  11. T.... ....

the opening is a little something from the Dixie Dregs "Take It Off The Top"

I wonder how many people missed that. I caught it the first time I heard it. In fact it even sounds copied and pasted from the original track.

  12. L.... K....

Nice song, although I think the vocal track is mixed too loud. This album is soooo underrated but I guess it's just the horrible cover...

    L. Kujari: I'm  sure the guys on the banana truck dig it though. Happy Birthday today(August 19) to Ian Gillan.  Cheers!

Really great song, puts me in a good mood instantly. Paice´s ideia of adding the cowbell on the chorus was brilliant
