Darrell Brock good question. I don't see anything overly satanic either. Let's consider that this video is meant to be a parody of religions astray from the norm. Hence the imagery. If anything it's unveiling practices outside of Christianity in service of people that don't know what goes on inside these cults

The half kidding part was meant as meaning the people in the video weren't necessarily going to hell, but the people they are portraying are. You say you don't see anything overly satanic, but the deception of these cults and their goal of leading people away from Jesus most definitely comes from satan.

Yeah. In case you're unaware, Bilbao is a real city, in northern Spain. (and in case you're aware, I'm sorry for being a smart-ass) I've been there (if "only for a second" - more like three hours) and it's a very nice city, quite geographically reminiscent of Portland, the Decemberists' hometown, but it looks nothing like the city in the video.

Colin and Jennys harmonising vocals are ace quality. The wit, charm and awesome lyrics make them stand out even more so.

I love the late 80's late night infomercial theme they have going on. They did it on the 'Make You Better' video too, and it's still awesome. I promise to pledge literal dollars to Decemberism.

It's actually a "vaporwave" theme. Kinda cheap. Kinda late. But whatever. It happened with sea punk.
