This is the first song that came on the first time I got in my car after my dog died. I was having an incredibly hard time dealing with the manner in which he died (he was poisoned). This song helped me face the days ahead. Two months later I got pregnant with our son. Love this song, one of Dean's best.

I know this song is about someone dying for a lot of people. I respect that a lot. But I remember how much this song resonated with me after my breakup. I remember sitting in the car and as soon as that first "sometimes it's gonna rain, even if you don't want it to, what you gonna do?", I had to hide my tears. And as I healed, I still cried at that line, but I also cried at the line "in the morning you will rise, you're gonna be alright." This song doesn't make me cry that often anymore, but it's more than two years on, and I still think this song will have a special place in my heart.

This song perfectly illustrates how music can be a calming element in bad situations. Great music can make something feel so much better. I once actually had a panic attack when i got lost heading home from a vacation in Florida, but thanks to music, I calmed down and made it home safely.
