Dead Can Dance - Enigma Of The Absolute Lyrics

Saloman hung down her head
Laid bare her heart
For the world to see
She craved for intimacy
Through darkened doors
Her aspect veiled with indecision
Gazed out to sea
She craved lucidity

Cast adrift
Fom past relationships in her life
Hoisted up the ideal
This was her saving grace
Seas of rage that once assailed
Her concern for the truth
Had passed her by
And left her high and dry

In her saviour's arms
In her saviour's arms
In her saviour's arms
In her saviour's arms

Across the sea
Lies the fountain of renewal
Where you will see
The whole cause of your loneliness
Can be measured in dreams
That transcend all these lies
And I wish and I pray
That there may come a day

For a saviour's arms
For a saviour's arms
For a saviour's arms
For a saviour's arms

Over the years I have met very few people who like the music from Dead Can Dance. The most common reaction I have heard from people who have listened to some tracks is that the music is 'scary' or 'depressing', or similar. I have never understood this. I once had a girlfriend that said similar things: oddly enough the relationship did not last :-)

Much of their music uses chords that tap into negative emotions such as fear and apprehension. You might be used to it but the average person isn't. Pick up a stranger in your car and play this song and they will probably start thinking you are serial killer.

Wow! I love them so much! This music has helped me evolve and grow so deeply ~ through tears and Joy

Hey the music is like a dooms feeling ,but because of it I love it I love I love it, it is nothing wrong that for some people sounds like scary or depressed song as long as they like it. I think it is something way different and the feelings that this people get from this song that is what they scared them because it is way different but is way good...And that's what I think.

    Ana Tew

Also ,no I don't think that you are a serial killer, they would think that music is kind of odd, but people that is not open to different kind of music, don't get frustrated with them that's the way it is in this world. By the way for me is a new thing I know is an old band but when I heard this I liked it and I'm over 50 years old, sorry I don't know where I was ,I was with hippie stuff....

I listen, and I get strong images of a Venetian masquerade carnival procession. The gold, the black, the colour, the posture.
