The 3 bonus tracks are all amazing, but I think the reason ADTR probably left them off the main listing is their mote generic sound. Common Courtesy is a very diverse sounding album, and most of the straight-up pop-punk songs have a more unique sound to them compared to other pop-punk bands or ADTR's other songs in general (Life @11, I Surrender, Best of Me). City of Ocala and Right Back At It Again are what I would call the other more "generic" sounding pop-punk songs, but they both fit really well with the theme of the album and are amazing opening tracks back to back. And I Remember is the other more "generic" sounding pop-punk track, but again, that one feels important to the theme of the album. All the other songs with pop-punk sounds also generally have very heavy segments and sound like what I'd call "classic ADTR sound" (Dead & Buried, Sometimes You're the Hammer Sometimes You're the Nail, The Document Speaks for Itself), and the rest of the songs are what I'd call much more heavy or a unique sound that isn't really pop-punk at all (Violence, End of Me, I'm Already Gone, Life Lessons Learned the Hard Way). IMO, with the diversity of the album in mind, I personally feel where they may have been coming from with leaving the bonus tracks off. They complement the album well (and I'm really glad they're bonus tracks because they're awesome), but I personally feel like they just wouldn't give the main portion of the album the same balance. Same Book But Never The Same Page sounds closer to something that would fit somewhere with the main tracks, I think it easily could have been interchangeable with Best of Me for the kinda heavier pop punk sound. And the breakdown fits really well in it, but it makes me wish more of the song had heavier segments throughout it, and Sometimes You're the Hammer & The Document Speaks for Itself already had that done really well.
