There was a rumor in the mags in the 70s but I don't trust them that David himself was the one who had this jewish blood from his maternal side. However, his mother Peggy Burns was Irish but maybe.....who knows. Because her first boyfriend before David's father was Jewish and therefore, David's half brother Terry was the half Jew not David, that's why.

I think we have seen mr David Bowies life documented for many years ,and we have seen him in many states of drug abuse sexuality changes music changes reinvention he was a camelion in many ways his talent was some times underestimated but he was forever here with the 69/70/80/90/2000 + I only see him live twice in his life but boy was he good . A cleaver man in charge of his own destiny finances and life .we will never know the personal intemate David unless Inman Wrights a book on him , but hey he gave us a good ride from laughing nome to dark star .hats off to the most loved andmired and copped star of this world and maybe others , where ever you are David you are our space boy and much more.

very well done...........dramatic and depressing..........but I also find so true..........hard to face........we are all mortal and as has been said "no one gets out alive".......thanks for putting together the images to go with the song............I can only watch it for say one or two times round at a time, as so poignant and scary........sometimes, have to switch to something else to help to lighten up on these thoughts

The is a great sad song! Bowie is saying goodbye to everyone. Sad and poignant at the same time. He's done it all and doesn't owe anyone anything. He left you some great music and that's enough.

Well, I didn't know he was dying and was going to release a final album at the same time. That was unexpected. All I did was read the lyrics and I got the feeling that it was his swan song and the lyrics and video say it all.

This song is so Fucking good it could have been on Low, Heroes, Lodger or Scary Monsters and would have been
one of the better tracks. Bowie decided to make it a Bonus track, which is typical perverse David Bowie style.

Hi Helda. I have some Bowie goodies in my Next Day booklet. Bowie autograph, Earl Slick autograph (and plectrum) he signed it "The Next Day" when I met him before his gig here in London 2014. Also have James Murphy's autograph (Love Is Lost, Hello Steve Reich) and my tickets from London,Berlin
