David Bowie - Round And Round Lyrics

Well, the joint was rocking

Going round 'n' round
Yeah, reeling and a-rocking
What a crazy sound
Well, they never stopped rocking
'Til the moon went down

Well it sounded so sweet
I had to take me a chance
I rose out of my seat
And had to dance
I started moving my feet
And clapping my hands

Yeah, we kept on rocking

Going round 'n' round
Yeah, reeling and a-rocking
What a crazy sound
Well, they never stopped rocking
'Til the moon went down

About twelve o'clock
When the place was packed
The front doors were locked
I said the place was packed
When the police knocked
Those doors flew back

But kept on rocking

Going round 'n' round
Yeah, reeling and a-rocking
What a crazy sound
Well, they never stopped rocking
'Til the moon went down

Yeah

About twelve o'clock
Around lock up time
Well, the doors were locked
Said the place was packed
When the police knocked
Those doors flew back

But it kept on rocking

Going round 'n' round
Yeah, reeling and a-rocking
What a crazy sound
Well, they never stopped rocking
'Til the moon went down

Yeah, it kept on rocking

Going round 'n' round
Yeah, reeling and a-rocking
What a crazy sound
Well, they never stopped rocking
'Til the moon went down

  8. K.... D....

Yes why on earth did they break this band up and hire session musicians to record pin-upsIts a case of what might had been, talent wise they held their own with anyone in the world at the.time but were sacked and went into obscurity. That was his management, they stopped the tour, sacked the band and had him away to the states,The End.

This along with Sweet Head was recorded for Ziggy Stardust but left off !

    B.... ....

Should have been on Pin Ups

  18. C.... ....

I had this on B side of Drive In Saturday but not on the Album.

    C.... ....

Cotictimmy sound and vision box set

    C.... ....

I had this on the 'Drive In Saturday' original single as well. Apparently Bowie intended 'Round and Round' to be included on the 'Ziggy Stardust' album, but the record company and Mainman Management (De Fries) insisted he place 'Starman' in its place. Fortunately one of better decisions made by others me thinks!

I think Bowie used to do cover versions during jam sessions mainly and at the BBC? I believe he did a version of Chuck Berry's 'Almost Grown' as well around the same time?

    C.... ....

IanWelland , Oh yes on the Bowie at the Beeb 2cd set there is Almost Grown , recorded in1971

  21. R.... S....

Have they messed with the mix? It seems more echoey than the b-side I have...

    R.... S....

Roystone Szweda two different mixes, sound and vision box and drive in saturday b side

  22. J.... S....

I'm glad Bowie did this when he had Mick Ronson on guitar. That was a dangerous combination!!!!!!

    J.... S....

Joshua Stephens , Mick's guitar is what makes this great to me, as well as Bowie's vocal. I had this as b side to Drive In Saturday too.!

  23. G.... P....

Stuart, because of the more famous Rolling Stones cover, which this is as I'm sure you know, based on.
The Chuck version much more laid-back and country music like. The Stones model, and all of them after it, have that manic, pilled up mod tempo. Bowie sounds like he's about to have a heart attack here!

  24. G.... P....

got to be one of my favourite guitar solos ever, it just blazes through the song!

  25. C.... M....

    Sounds so 50's. <3

  26. S.... W....

Why doesn't anyone mention Chuck Berry?

    S.... W....

    Chuck Berry, Missouri's Finest

  27. d.... w....

amazing guitar work by Mick Ronson RIP

  28. W.... ....

    Thats Crackin !
