Dave Clark Five, The - Live In The Sky Lyrics

You ever wanna live in the sky?
Sitting on a crown, watch the world go by
You ever wanna live in the sky?
Watchin' all the world go by

Sliding down a rainbow on a star
And everything below you looks so small
And everybody wonders who you are
But you tell 'em that you're not so tall

All together now
You ever wanna live in the sky?
Sitting on a crown, watch the world go by
You ever wanna live in the sky?
Watchin' all the world go by

Sitting on the moon with all your friends
Watchin' Mother Earth go rollin' by
You plant a little flag and then pretend
You're tryin' something no one else has tried

All together now
You ever wanna live in the sky?
Sitting on a crown, watch the world go by
You ever wanna live in the sky?
Watchin' all the world go by

All you need is love!
You ever wanna live in the sky?
Sitting on a crown, watch the world go by
You ever wanna live in the sky?
Watchin' all the world go by

You ever wanna live in the sky?
Watchin' all the world go by

Dave Clark Five, The Live In The Sky Comments

A Beatlesque vibe going on here! Nice tune.

The song sung when England won the World Cup 1966. It will be on the air again this year 2018

    S.... T....

I remember that people who sang along at Wembley came to get money for being on a record. :)

We where the opening band for The Dave Clark 5 at a Boston Garden concert in 1966. We where called The Kastawys.
Dave and all the guy's in the band where gentlemen in every respect of the word.
We had a wonderful and memorable night entertaining the 27,000 or so fans.
    Truly the good old days.

They sure did they where a rockin band, I'm going to say they generated more excitement than The Beatles live.

Wow! That's good to hear. Lots of vitriol online towards Dave Clark specifically.

Dave did not play drums on the recordings, so the studio drummer , i forget his name, had to make the drum parts easy enough for Dave to copy.

I guess people are upset that Bobby Graham never got credit for the drum work done on the DC5 hit records. So many used studio musicians in those days...not sure why there is so much rancor.
Fascinating that you got to be the opening act for the DC5 in 1966. I'm shocked that they drew 27,000 at that time. Besides that Beatles....not too many bands were playing in front of anything more than 10,000 seat arenas in 1966.
Definitely an exciting time. How fun that you got to be a part of it.

Paul Maccartney said Dave Clark was an excellent drummer, and played on all their top hits.

Funny how Dave Clark is quite the attention hog, yet the one "flaw" musically in the  band. I know he started it,  managed,  and all that, but he's the world's worst excuse for a drummer. Lucky that Mike's voice, Denny's sax and the rest pulled them through.

Everyone likes to disrespect Dave but without Dave there would be no Dave Clark Five.
