Darkthrone - Earth's Last Picture Lyrics
We sail the seas, of negativity
To banish kindness from this place
(Sans scruples, sans humility)
To behold the fierceness of wolves
(Sans love, sans compassion)
To behold the wails of thine in affright
Whilst evil preyeth upon thy hearts
(Sans warmth, sans pity)
To behold a world, darkly astir
Rising in madness and mystery
(Sans light, sans life)
Than to tremble amidst, this old memory?
Alas for the damned thou art...now ye behold!
Tis the rise of satanic divinity...
Oh we rejoice at the destruction
Of all ye have ever lived for...
Hark! as lands tremble, and empires fall
Ye may hear us laugh with sardonic wrath
(Tis the voices from the past)
Aye we can not mourn, for
Never morrow shall dawn
World without end...

Darkthrone Earth's Last Picture Comments
Got the original cassette from 1996 because I love this album!
you da man!
Black,cold,raw and pure old school
Sonu sikip atıyor
Such an underrated song
It's so cool that the lyrics at the beginning reference Manilla Road's The Veils of Negative Existence and then the riff at 3:29 references that song melodically.
I love that part of the song
Wy they are some french word in the lyric ?
sans isn't a french word
sans
sanz/Submit
preposition literary humorous
without.
"a picture of Maughan sans specs"
Middle English: from Old French sanz, from a variant of Latin sine ‘without’, influenced by Latin absentia ‘in the absence of’.
u know google is ur friend
@morwen angelus Sans is curently a french word.
i love that fast tremelo ending, what an apocalypse atmosphere!!!! the atmosphere of total death of all on our earth...total destruction, total death, total extermination
come on guys just one more like
Drakthrone, holly Darkthrone
these and Panzerfaust are like Quarton sining in celtic frost
this reminds me of bathory a bit
Fenriz has said Darkthrone is pure Celtic frost, Bathory worship
Love your channel, Siren!
True black metal !!!! \m/
I've heard people say vocals did not sound good on the panzerfaust album. I do not agree. the vocals were raw, cold ,evil and misanthropic. any person who loves this band would love those vocals.
we sail the seas of negativity
Weakling's Desasters in the Sun was definitely inspired by this
All influences love this band and nobody is original.Hail Dark Throne
Nobody mentions the Rush influence in this one, I can't pinpoint it but I clearly feel a Rush vibe in that one.
@*****
Yep don't ask me why, but I keep getting the cover pictures of the 90s Rush albums in my mind when listening to this...
darkthrone=fucking best...
fuck all. its unique in its own atmosphere!
Okay, so the main riff for this is straight from Celtic Frost's Into the Crypt of Rays.
you are deaf arent you?
I think you're the one who needs to dig the shit out of their ears. The riff at 1:05 is straight from Celtic Frost. Even Darkthrone themselves admit they take riffs from Celtic Frost.
but it isnt the main riff, the main riff is 0:00 - 0:28
I agree it does sound the same, Who cares though?
Sounds like Darkthrone.
They were probably inspired by Darkthrone when making it
Intro sounds like Hell Awaits.
It also sounds a bit like A Fine Day To Die at the beginning
Sounds like visions of mortality
It sounds like listening to visons of mortality through a string and can.
sim, celtic frost bem no meio
very much celtic frostish kind of riffing , turned black !!! great heavy and catchy stuff ...
if you can't hear punk influence here, you are pretty demental ;)
Always Hail Darkthrone !! \m/
irritating as shingles.
And on A Blaze In The Northern Sky too.
Black metal keeps me cold during summers
black metal keeps me warm during the winter
One of the riffs is almost a direct rip from Visions of Mortality.
Aye quite a lot of Darkthrone riffs are inspired from CF, especially on the Panzerfaust album.
This song is bad ass!
this sounds like something off of Celtic Frost's morbid tales.
This is honestly my favorite Darkthrone track.
This album has a lot of groove. Loving this song.
at 3:20 it sounds a bit like the napalm death song "moral" for seconds
@SatanicWarbringer Was it tomorrow or will be yesterday! Big time!
@stewy1897 Because they are both Norwegian I'd guess.
@SatanicWarbringer CELTIC FROST is the best band of extreme metal of all times and this piece have a real influence by the early CELTIC FROST and HELL HAMMER productions
Celtic Frost anybody ? :))
@Joulupossu Garm wrote this song
Why is dimmu borgir in the related videos?
@ProcreatingSorg yeah which explains the subliminal message in "as flittermice as satans spys"
@ProcreatingSorg however, believe it or not Varg Vikernes wrote the lyrics for a lot (if not all) of the tracks in transilvanian hunger and the lyrics for quintessence in panzerfaust
yeahhhhhhhhhhh fuckkkkkkkkk
@MoOsHw agreed, the panzerfaust vocals were terrible, which is a shame because i loved the instruments.
@gargentimma I disagree, there is some Thrash element to those albums but they are by far on the punkier and rock 'n' roll side of things.
The vocals on this are far better than on Panzerfaust!
@SweetnessDies Ihsahn wrote Black Victory of Death, which is total Emperor, lyric wise, with use of old english words like thou, thee etc.
@Joulupossu that's because I think Ihsahn wrote the lyrics to this one.. or maybe Garm. cant remember
Welcome to TOTAL DEATH!!!
FUCKING GOOD SONG!!!! I'm become so fucking fan of this band that I don't understand why it's underground xD
@sublime1918 youd probably have to be an avid thrash metal listener to enjoy their last 3-4 albums
I guess I am the only real Darkthrone fan here. I like everything they make.
Did u notice any "Emperor-ish" lyrical shapes ?
darkthrone's new stuff is pure shit when compared to their earlier grim and depraved masterpieces
it took me awhile to really appreciate this disc, but now i love it. everything these guys put out is gold.
