Darkness, The - Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time Lyrics

We may not get back what we had, what I threw away
But you know I would do anything, anything you say
I'd cross a thousand miles of broken glass on my hands and knees
I would crawl if for a moment we could cease hostilities

But it seemed like such a good idea at the time,
such a very very good idea at the time.

I don't know where I am, I don't know where I went wrong
either way let's start again
I don't know where I am, I don't know where I went wrong
I don't know where to start again

Now our dream is over, but lately I have found
That you only seem to come alive when I am not around

But it seemed like such a good idea at the time,
such a very very good idea at the time.

I don't know where I am, I don't know where I went wrong
either way let's start again
I don't know where I am, I don't know where I went wrong
I don't know where to start again

[Solo]

But it seemed like such a good idea at the time,
such a very very good idea at the time.

I don't know where I am, I don't know where I went wrong
either way let's start again
I don't know where I am, I don't know where I went wrong
I don't know where to start... again

  5. p.... ....

    Tssssss so auto-tuned....

    p.... ....

No it's not you fucking moron

  6. n.... s....

Songwriting, musicianship and production (Roy Thomas Baker) was much better on this album but lacked the cohesiveness and pure unadulterated rock of P2L, plus some of the songs and instrumentation were a little weird for a rock / metal album

    n.... s....

Still a good album, isnt it?

  7. S.... P....

May not get back what we had...

  8. G.... O....

It's odd to me that it takes so long for humans to give proper respect to great art. Time and time again the shy and bashful factor plays a major role in delaying true praise. This band single-handedly saved rock and roll. It is obvious song after song. Hit after smash hit.

    G.... O....

Classy opus this is way superior to hot cakes and Pinewood smile

  9. B.... C....

This song was a good idea and not just at the time.. at anytime!

Such nostalgia whenever I listen to the Darkness. When they broke up I stopped listening to them and kind of presumed they hadn't been any good but I went to see them two years ago at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin and they blew the house down! Didn't take themselves seriously which helped their live act but the music was phenomenal. This is a banger of a tune as well!

    J.... D....

Joseph Doherty I was at that gig in Dublin, fuckin amazing mate!

  12. B.... ....

Yes this is definitely one of the few bands in the 21st century still producing great rock and roll. It's a shame, stupid ass hip hop. But when you do hear a band like this,  it's fucking epic.

    B.... ....

    Lewronggeneration

    B.... ....

What does hip hop have to do with another genre producing music?

  13. D.... ....

I know this album didn't do as good as Permission to Land but it's still epic!

    D.... ....

i thnk this album is much better that Permission...

    D.... ....

Paulshaggy agree, I like permission but this one is something else

    D.... ....

Paulshaggy this is by far my Fav Drk album...the first one had the radio song on it to carry it...

    D.... ....

overall it is superior to hot cakes

    D.... ....

All that matters is what YOU like better. Don’t lose sleep over what other people dug more...

When Justin Hawkins quit they split up for a few years. In a recent video Justin Hawkins actually said he doesn't really want to be as big as they were then because it's too stressful... although he may have been joking. I couldn't really tell.

  15. A.... ....

No, the lead guy quit in 2007 because his drug habit was destroying him and the band. He got clean(ish) and they reunited last year.

  16. A.... ....

But they reunited and released another album last year!

  17. V.... ....

it was about 8-10 years ago ... :D

  18. C.... v....

They introduced my personal 'Era of Rock' (which, by the way, hasn't ended, and probably won't till I die :) in a quite turbulant time in my life.
It's not like I'm listening to them daily (I knew their debut-album and follow-up, but have to play catch-up on the rest), but some of their songs just stay with you (or at least with me :P), Hazel eyes and Believe in a thing called love maybe the most enjoyable for me.

  19. T.... B....

Because they were seen as Queen-wannabes and the novelty quickly wore off. I have to say, though, they were quite talented and should have been more famous.

  20. S.... E....

not bad music at all was searching hazel eyes, and came up with this band

  21. b.... ....

This song is so beautiful. I'm so in love with this band.

  22. S.... ....

ma se piace a tutti questa canzone, come è possibile che questo album (che si meritava di più) ha venduto così poco??? :\

  23. L.... E....

It always seems like a bloody good idea. lol

  24. n.... b....

    original voice indeed ...amazing

  25. R.... S....

I dun understand why that band is not so famous in whole world

  26. m.... ....

    bellissima

  29. A.... H....

  30. M.... M....

    M.... M....
