Darkest Hour - Blessed Infection Lyrics
It sets in with a vengeance
An attack on all the senses
A paralyzing presence
They'll hunt you down
They'll hunt you down
One at a time
The closer they get
There's nowhere to run from the ones with no reflection
Hits when you last expect it
Contagious and spreading it's blessed infection
They'll hunt you down
One at a time
One at a time
The closer they get
There's nowhere to run from the ones with no reflection
Hits when you least expect it
Contagious and spreading it's blessed infection
Defiled with malicious intent
A sickness in your head
A sickness with no end
Somewhere someone holds the cure
Holding out on the rest of us
Blessed and infectious
They'll hunt you down
One at a time
They'll hunt you down
One at a time
The closer they get
There's nowhere to run from the ones with no reflection
Hits when you least expect it
Contagious and spreading it's blessed infection

Listening 10 years from 2009 to 2019! Great album
I'd say more so melodic death than anything too, reason being the lack of wimpy vocals present unlike what you'd find in early A7X/Bullet etc plus overall quite fast for a 'metalcore' band aren't they?
+gnfnrs87 they are not metal/core that is for sure..they sound to me like a punk/melodic death metal
Metalcore/Melodeath With Influences Of Thrash Metal
Dat riff 1:35 they should have'd used it more often...
I love this band, i've downloaded all of their albums :)
their older shit is metalcore as fuck... just saying.
And what you just described fits the criteria for metalcore. With the exception of breakdowns, most metalcore includes death elements as well as punk elements (metal riffs, power chords, distortion, fast pace drum rhythms, screamed vocals, etc.)
case and point, (While She Sleeps-Death Toll, Within destruction-As I Lay Dying, The Crimson Armada-The Serpents Tongue, Betraying the Martyrs- Tapestry of Me).
lyrical content always varies
In other words, I dont giva shit what you read on Wikipedia
those arent similar styles to DH. those are scene bands. Darkest Hour is thrash/melodic death metal (swedish influenced) with some hardcore punk elements. but these guys mixed metal and hardcore in a way thats different from 'metalcore'. they mix some of the attitude and lyrical content of punk with a metal sound. not just gay breakdowns like metalcore
they got a damn big hipe the last years !!! Now they're a very famous metal-band. A few years ago, when i started listening to them, they just around 500 clicks or something like that and then they got the hipe :) And I still love them *.*
Hell yeah!! I turn 16 June 1 :)
I just didn't understand what you meant by thrashy
thats basically what i said to the other guy lol
Tbh they are more Melodic Death Metal than anything
why would they call them selves a thrash band if they weren't a thrash band.......................when i talked to john henry at the suicidal final tour i brought this up and he says he finds it annoying when magazines label them metalcore. what dont you people understand about that
No man you're age doesn't matter at all, i was listening to Metallica when i was only 12
@Incurafy Thanks!!
You too! \m/
@bloodrazor29 Are you kidding me man? You're at the perfect age to listen to metal. You're old enough to form opinions on the lyrics and musical ability of the band members, but young enough to have another 80 years of metal ahead of you.
Keep it metal. \\m//
@stillbornx14 Not even close..
Love it! Makes vampires sound bad-ass again!
@bloodrazor29 if you're saying that, then you're saying at the gates is metalcore too
@bloodrazor29 they really aren't, yes since the eternal return theyve have some melodeath riffs but theyre a thrash band, not metalcore.
@stillbornx14 Yes, yes they are lmao, they're Melodic Death Metal & Metalcore
Is it really odd for teens/kids like this?? I'm 15 (turning 16 in June), and I've been listening to this kind of shit since I was in grade school
best metal band period. dont even try to categorize this shit for me. it is awesomeness
@zerofreak22 bro if you want to tribute this band check out our blogsite one of our members uploaded all of them albums from 1996-2011 ultimatecore(dot)blogspot(dot)com/
darkest hour isnt metal core you idiot
@zerofreak22 All preteens do is pirate. 1 million preteens is about a couple grand if you're lucky, maybe a hundred thousand dollars if you're pieces of shit and charge too much for tickets to shows.
Phyrexia was here
@girlpartz true, specially when they are great
