Our church has been doing these classes recently, and our class leader has been talking about seeing yourself as God sees you. The very first word on his list was ‘Masterpiece’. It kept getting this song in my head, so I had to come listen again. It hit harder than it ever has before. Praise God for the right song at the right time

Don’t try to fix yourself. The Gospel isn’t about a bunch of rules and law. He gave us the law so we could see that we are going to mess up! And sin! So we could see that we need a Savior. And that Savior is Jesus Christ. If you accept Him, there’s nothing you have to do except accept His grace and lay at His feet. He wants to give your soul rest in Him. When you accept Jesus you also get the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit then works itself out into your soul and mind OVER TIME! Not overnight. He wants you to abandon guilt and shame and live under grace and freedom because He took our punishment already. He will gently help you with all your inner demons/struggles and fix them with you. The Word says apart from Him you are like a branch without a tree. You will never bear the fruits of the Spirit without Him. It’s ok though!! Because He knows that already. Just let Him work it out. Keep praying and fighting through this dry spot. God will honor it. Love you ❤️

I remember the first time I heard this song. My very premature baby daughter was in the NICU, and I had to leave her every day to go home and take care of my other child and handle work, etc. Leaving her there was heartwrenching. Knowing I couldn't do a darn thing to make her better, and it was all out of my hands. And I heard this song. And I cried; weeped actually. And then everytime I hear this song, I realize that this song wasn't just the masterpiece God was working on in my daughter, but he was working on me. Trusting in Him each day through this very difficult time. The way God brought her into our lives, the way God protected both our lives during her delivery (I had preeclampisa that turned into HELLPs syndrome). The way He helped her continue to grow and thrive, despite all the odds. The way He helped our family through this desperate time. And when she finally came home, and I was scared that I couldn't do it. The post partum depression and PTSD I felt from the birth. The way He brought us through all of it. We are all works of art He is working in each of us. This song brings all of that to my mind when I hear it.
