I saw him perform in L.A. around 2012. The meds he took put a lot of weight on him, and gave him a tremor in one of his arms. He needed to read his lyrics off of a music stand, and he guzzled a lot of water between songs.


Honestly, musically, he was wobbly. But I have never been to a show like this before. The entire audience was rooting for him, ignoring any mistakes, encouraging him, pouring love out to him. It was amazing. I don't know how to explain it well, but I backed out of the audience and saw that not only were they all crowded toward the stage, like most shows. It was like the audience was leaning in towards, keeping him afloat. The songs were great, but he must have sung True Love Will Find You in The End a thousand times. The magic was in the love.
