and now i'm crying because it reminds me how me and my friends all felt terrible, like it might have been our faults, we were her friends always there laughing and hanging with her.

i would occasionally watch videos of all of us hanging, just to see her gorgeous smile and hear her crazy ass laugh again.
and what's sad is, we don't know why she did it.

I've been writing this story since I was 16 (I'm 19 now) and this song perfectly describes the back-story of one of my characters as he turned his head for a split second and the little girl he was babysitting ended up drowning in a lake. I never really thought about how that affected him mentally, but hearing this beautiful piece gives me so much thought and inspiration. Thanks, Kurt.

people take this song the wrong way its way more deep then your girlfriend leaving you, listen to the lyrics its about someone you care about just out of the blue dying and you battleing your thoughts and guilt because you feel like you could of prevented it or should of had more time with the person

Its about a mother who's baby girl drowned while she wasn't looking. Its so fucking depressing but can really happen. At least thats what I got out of it.

This is the thing about music, it's entirely subjective. The listener relates it to his or her own experiences. No one is right or wrong so just enjoy it. Personally, I hear the drowning in a lake as a metaphor for leaving someone in a bad situation and it not working out. For example, leaving your loved one in the depths of drug addiction and then they overdose and die. Perhaps if he tried hard enough or cared more he could have done something but he didn't,. Now he has to live with it. But again.. this is my view and it's molded by my experiences. That is what makes music so wonderful. There is no right or wrong.

Great song and he did sing his ass off!! but I have to respectfully disagree about new DGD. new stuff touches a different tone. With Tillian as their singer, they produce a much more mature sound. Granted I just got into DGD, but I cringe when I hear some old DGD w/ Jonny bravo or whatever his name is... Well, I think cringe is the wrong word. Maybe I just dont like Johnny.

all of dance gavin dance is worth really big fucks. they've not had a bad album or front man so we're all good. 

I honestly don't care for this album because most of the songs sound much too similar, and/or are all about generally the same thing.. I think Happiness and Tree Village are the best tracks and the others I feel are too similar, and in an odd way. They aren't what they used to be, but I think It was a good change because I feel like it was getting a bit stale with Jonny and I got really tired of Kurt quick. But can't wait for DGD VII in Spring!
