Dan Seals - Still Reelin' (From Those Rock & Roll Days) Lyrics

I remember where I was the first time I saw Elvis
In our living room on our black and white TV
He sang Blue Suede Shoes and when the song was over
I knew things would never be the same for me

I grew up in a house where the doors were always open
Where a stranger is just someone I did not know
With Dreams of far off places and old guitars
Fell asleep listening to the all night radio

Now the rooms in this old house are all empty
And sometimes I wonder just how far I've come
I know some things must end, I don't know where I fit in
Still reelin' from those rock and roll days

Granddad died and left me his old chevy
Forty eight hundred pounds of Detroit steel
Sometimes at night I wish that I still had it
So it could drive me back to the way I used to feel

Now the buildings down on main street are all empty
And sometimes I wonder just how far we've come
I know some things must end, though I try hard to fit in
Still reelin' from those rock and roll days

Though I come back to this place when I feel empty
And I play those old songs I love to hear
I know some things must end and I should find where I fit in
Still reelin' from those rock and roll days

Sha na na you know I love you
Sha na na I always will
Sha na na I'm thinking of you
Sha na na you know the way I feel

Sha na na you know I love you
Sha na na I always will
Sha na na I'm thinking of you
Sha na na you know the way I feel

wow!!! amazing Dan RIP. We lost a great musician, a country singer, an inspiration, a lullaby. No one equals you. Great singer. You should'nt have die, you must be in our country before you die at least to see you and hear your rhyme a very pleasant to my ear...

A little young for the Elvis part, but the rest maps my life so closely, I'm tempted to sue for some sort of copyright infringement.

One of my favorite songs. Dan had two musical lives. One as England Dan and the other as Dan Seals. I was blessed to see him live both times. Each time was magical. Thank-you for sharing this beautiful song.

@01091955able - Well this one was done especially for you as you mentioned it in correspondence. Uploaded 'The Wire' 'A Good Rain' and 'A Good Place To Be' last night on 'phivosify' my other channel, so reckon you have at least 20 now to make up a playlist. Just so pleased to hear you will always remain loyal to our dear Dan. Best wishes, Steve :-)

My kindred spirit! Please do not say the words "the last one" as it hurts to hear. Dan Seals had many more good songs waiting for your uploading. His music is the bridge that keeps our connection. If you stop uploading, then i have nothing to say to you. I know many artists in the world but Dan Seals is the only artist I love..—Your Thai friend.
