This is my favourite damned song , I sing along with it driving to work on many occasions and although I don't fancy myself as a singer it's just something I think you have to do with this song, it's so catchy with clever lyrics and in my opinion rat scabies best drum work!.. A top top drawer tune!

Iam surprised that there are a very few folk out there that give this track the thumbs down! I only heard it once in the early 80's and this Strangler devotee became hooked on The Damned! Seeing Killing Joke live on The Tube and later in concert at the Top Rank, Cardiff completed my unholy trinity of fave bands and my favourite all time top 3 songs are: 1) Curtain Call- The Damned 2) Walk on by- The Stranglers 3)Love like Blood- Killing Joke

The Guy that co-produced this was the same man that wrote the music for Black Hawk Down/ Gladiator/ The Pirates of the Carribean movies and tons of others .... Hans Zimmer. To quote Wikipedia...In 1980 Zimmer co-produced a single, "The History Of The World Part 1," with, and for, UK Punk band The Damned, which was also included on their 1980 LP release, "The Black Album," and carried the description of his efforts as "Over-Produced by Hans Zimmer."
